Fireworks! That’s what this feels like. Nerve endings lighting up and bursting with exhilaration at the familiar feeling of being at home. Here. In. His. Arms.

Our mouths claim each other’s. Faster. Firmer. Deeper. Tongues sliding between lips and stroking, exploring, dancing.

“I hate that you do this to me,” he grumbles. His fists bunching up the hem of my dress.

“Me too,” I hiss back. My hand drops to the waistband of his jeans. “But it changes nothing.”

My skirt is over my hips. My panties are on the floor.

The bundle of nerves between my thighs is already alive and dancing, craving his fingers, his mouth, and… oh God, yes! I want him inside me more than I want air in my lungs right now. My libido takes over. I shove his jeans and shorts from his hips.

“Agreed.” He growls against my mouth. “This changes nothing.”

His mouth crashes into mine as he pulls one of my knees over his hip, his erection slides into the secret place between my thighs. The sensation of him there makes my head spin. The pleasure rumbling in his chest is echoed in mine.

“Wait.” Sean breathes heavily as he pulls away. “I need…”

He pulls us apart and bends down to grab his wallet from his pocket. He grabs a foil packet from inside and drops it on the floor again. Then, he looks at me as he tears it open and slides the condom on. If there is ever a moment to get my head into gear and put a stop to this madness, then it’s this one. While we have enough sense to stop for protection. We should stop.

The problem is the way he’s handling that beautiful, thick erection. It’s not making me want to stop. I want him more. I don’t know who moves first, whether I jump, or he lifts, but suddenly I have both legs wrapped around his hips and he’s surging deep inside me as my hips meet the edge of the bar.

We both cry out.

His thrusts are thick and frantic. His kisses are wild and demanding. This isn’t like any sex we’ve ever had. It’s fast and furious, and I have no choice but to hold on for dear life. Sex with Sean has never felt this good before. I mean, it was amazing before, but this is… phenomenal! Every thrust sends me higher, and higher. Closer and closer to the heavens. It’s almost too fast. Way too fast, and yet, I can’t hold back.

Our kiss breaks. His hot breath panting against my neck as he pounds into me. Harder. Faster. His pleasured groans turn into cries of ecstasy. Harder. Crying out my name before he captures my mouth again, losing me in the heat of another searing kiss. Rocketing me into the stars as he slams into me one last time and we both come apart.

CHAPTER 11

ASHLEIGH

What the hell just happened?

One minute we’re playfully teasing, the next we’re fucking? We’ve never been like that. Except that one time, years ago, we were just friends. We lost our minds and almost had sex on Julia’s couch, while Julia and her husband were in the other room. That was just days before our friendship imploded completely.

Sean’s heart drums under my palm as I lift my head from his shoulder. His hot, fast breaths blast against my neck. “God, that was…” His words are cut off by a pant. “Wild.”

It wasn’t supposed to change anything. But the thought of him going…the thought of him walking away without knowing the truth…the thought of him hating me… I can’t do it. I can’t keep him in the dark any longer. No matter how much I hate him. No matter how much I will never forgive him. He needs to know.

“We need to talk,” I murmur. “There’s something I need to tell you.”

“Okay.” He pulls away, holding me while my feet fall away from his hips and slide to the floor. Then, he drops to pull up his jeans and shorts from around his ankles. He grabs my panties from the floor and hands them to me while I slide my dress back into place. “Give me a minute to clean up.”

Sean walks into the bathroom, and I duck into the bedroom to change into lounge pants and a T-shirt, wishing I’d never said anything at all. It feels awkward now. But maybe that’s just me.

We both step out of our respective doorways just as the click of the door unlocks. The door rattles, opens, and Ryder’s voice calls out. “Ashleigh?”

God damn my big brother!

I stare at Sean. His hair is less tidy. His mouth is still swollen from our kisses. His cheeks are flushed from physical exertion. He looks thoroughly ruined. But the seed of pride is killed by the humiliation seeping into my blood. The magic of the last few moments evaporates.

“Ashleigh?” Ryder’s voice calls from the entrance hall. “I got back as soon as I could.” He walks into the open plan living area of the suite and looks straight at us. “Are you all right? Mimi said you fainted.”

How did Mimi know?

Of course, Sean told her!

What am I doing?
