“We shouldn’t have done that,” I murmur to no one in particular. “We just painted an even bigger target on Ellie’s back than before.”

“POP doesn’t care about who she dates,” Landon points out, his tone clipped. “And The Divine One already suspects we’re all romantically involved.”

“I’m not talking about POP,” I say, my attention fixated on the group of gossiping girls. They may not be as bad as a deranged serial killer, but they’re a close second.

Fucking high school.

“Thank fuck,” Landon breathes, his body physically drooping with relief. I follow the direction of his gaze to see Ellie walk into the room, surrounded by her friends. A few paces behind her, his ball cap pulled low to hide his face from view, is Zane.

“Fucking dumbass,” Beckett murmurs with a chuckle, watching our friend stealthily weave through the crowd of half-naked students, his eyes trained on Ellie.

And Ellie most definitely knows he’s stalking her. I see her gaze flick in his direction more than once, her eyes glimmering with amusement and a tiny smile on her perfect face.

I chuckle and clap Landon on the shoulder. “Let’s go get our girl.”

ELLIE

Ican’t remember the last time I’ve been to a party. Maybe in middle school, for a birthday party? I certainly haven’t ever been to a party like this—where scantily clad women grind against practically naked men, booze runs freely, and the stench of alcohol permeates the air.

It’s crowded. I think almost every student in my senior class chose to show up tonight. Music blares through the speakers up above—some techno beat with no lyrics that makes me want to dance—and the lights have dimmed, giving the pool and spa an almost uncomfortably sensual ambience.

There’s a tableful of food against the far wall—holding hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and pasta salad—and beside it, a keg of beer. There are other drinks, of course, but most of the students seem to gravitate toward the alcohol.

Except for me.

I don’t dare lose my wits, not with everything that is going on.

I take a tentative sip of my bottled water and lean farther against Landon, reveling in the heat that seems to emit from his muscular body.

Honestly, I don’t know if I’m disappointed or relieved that all my guys chose to keep their shirts on. A part of me wants to study and admire their sculpted chests, but the rest of me…

Well…

I’m not stupid. I see the way the other girls look at my guys. There’s stark hunger in their gazes and unfettered jealousy whenever they turn those eyes toward me. More than one girl has tried to make her move on my guys, but each and every time, they turn them down, some more politely than others.

Smugness radiates through my being, intermingling with the possessiveness that’s already present there.

I might not know what the six of us are, but I know that they’re mine. They belong to me as surely as I belong to them. Maybe it’s crazy to believe that a six-way relationship will work, but I’m hopeful. They don’t just own separate pieces of my heart—they own all of me. And if I lose one of them, I’ll lose myself. The revelation is both terrifying and exhilarating.

“Are you bored yet, kitten?” Landon murmurs in my ear, his voice a low, husky timber that reverberates through me like an earthquake. Shivers rush across my skin at the feel of his stubble grazing my sensitive earlobe.

I shift slightly so I can see his face, and the corners of his lips twitch in a microscopic smile. His silver eyes appear almost metallic in the ambient lighting.

“Who doesn’t love horny teenagers, half-naked bodies, and free booze?” I tease, my gaze instinctively dipping to his firm lips.

The only pair I haven’t tasted yet.

Heat both rises and lowers inside of me simultaneously. I can feel it in my cheeks but also in my core, which suddenly throbs. That sexy smirk of his should be sold as a weapon of mass destruction. It could decimate an entire population in a matter of seconds.

“We’ll be able to leave soon,” he assures me. “The other three are almost finished.”

As Landon and I have been making our rounds through the party, talking to various students and gauging how much they know about POP, Dominic, Beckett, and Zane have been doing…other things.

Like stealing cell phones and other personal artifacts.

Beckett has set up camp in the corner of the pool room, his back facing the students as Dom acts as the lookout. I know he has over thirty phones in front of him that he’s been tasked to hack into, but if anyone is capable of rising to the challenge, it’s Beckett.
