She was P.E.R.F.E.C.T!

When I spotted her getting jostled in the coffee shop, I didn’t stop to look at her. I just wanted to help. The poor woman was damn near trampled on and no one gave a fuck.

That pissed me off.

However, when I bent to help her, all I saw was a curtain of shimmering gold, until she moved her long locks away from her face. The second she did, I nearly swallowed my tongue.

I had no words.

Not even the heavens could describe her. She was like an angel created from every beautiful thing in the universe, and when she smiled, my heart nearly burst from my chest. As it was, it still took me a few seconds to gather my wits and make sure I wasn’t seeing stars. But when I heard Beth call her Henley, I froze.

She couldn’t be.

I begged God, pleaded with him that she wasn’t the woman King assigned me to, that she wasn’t Devlyn’s little sister, because if she was, fuck my promise to King and Devlyn. There was no fucking way in this universe I could stay away from her.

Impossible.

There was no way I could keep my word and stay honorable with a woman like her.

I was a man, for crying out loud.

Even I had my limits and the lusciously stunning Henley Never was that limit.

However, when she confirmed my worst fear, I obliterated every fucking moral fiber in my body and let my devilish side take over.

Fuck it all to hell.

If I was going down, I was going to die a happy man.

King would just have to suck it and Devlyn would get used to it.

Until I could figure out how to tell them I was keeping her, I was going to keep it all a secret.

It was too easy.

All I had to do was play the game.

No one needed to know how I felt. I was good at pretending to be someone I wasn’t. I just needed to fake it until I made it. And when I say made it, I mean chained Henley Never to me for all eternity.

Easy Peasey Lemon Squeezy!

Of course, the only problem I foresaw was my sisters, especially Freyja. That brat would know the second she laid eyes on me. Hell would freeze over before she kept her mouth shut, too. The second she looked at me, she would know and it would be game over. What I needed was something to distract her while I locked Henley down. Something that would occupy her time and make her forget about me.

Pulling out of Henley’s drive, I grinned as I reached for my phone and dialed Enigma.

“Where the hell are you?” my brother growled into the phone. “This place is a madhouse. These fucking kids are driving me crazy. They are maniacs!”

“Sorry, brother. Got called to an emergency. I’m heading back down the mountain now. In the meantime, I need a favor.”

“What?”

“I need you to woo Freyja.”

“Excuse me?”

Pulling into the compound, I bypassed the clubhouse and drove straight over to the garage. Quickly parking, I jumped from my truck and headed for the wrecker, when Gunner stopped me.

“Thought you were supposed to be at the bowling alley helping Enigma?”
