Damn, these guys knowing me this well is a little unsettling. Or amazing. I nod. “Yes.”
“Then no, we’re not starting in the elevator,” he says, slipping a hand to my lower back and escorting me back to the front of the hotel. “We’re doing this purelymyway.”

Michael
The doorto the hotel room snicks shut softly behind us and I breathe a sigh of relief.
I’m alone with Dani.
Completely alone. I’m going to besureI’m the only one on her mind.
She’s standing there in that sexy as fuck cocktail dress, her wild red curls tumbling down over her shoulders, her cheeks pink, not from the heat, but from anticipation. I know she wants this as much as I do. An opportunity to reconnect away from the chaos of the move into the new house and the stress of meeting my colleagues.
I toss the room key on the table by the door and slide a hand into the thick halo of curls surrounding her high cheekbones. “My gorgeous, sweet girl. I really am so glad you’re here with me. It means the world to me.”
“I wouldn’t miss it,” she murmurs. “I’m happy to be here with you.”
I can see it on her lips—she’s going to apologize about not fitting in and the texting again.
I don’t want that. I don’t need that. I cut off any further words by covering her sweet mouth with my own. Dani sighs as I press my lips against hers in a tender kiss.
This woman. This mouth. What I wouldn’t do for her. If she asked to leave tonight, I would bail on the conference and escort her back to Chicago, but I’m hoping I can distract her from missing Crew and Nathan and our safe space back home.
“I love your lips,” I tell her, pulling back to smile at her, in danger of getting lost all over again in those green eyes that shine with love for me. “And I loveyou.”
“I love you too, Michael. I love you more every single day.”
The words warm me from the inside out. I knew that someday I’d fall for a woman, and it would be amazing and satisfying and deep, but I never knew how much I would actuallyfeel. How every look she gives me, every word she speaks, every orgasm I coax from her is like the oxygen I need to breathe.
I can say it, but I want to show her as well. I want her to know that I’m here with her, hereforher, because I can’t imagine being anywhere else right at this moment.
And frankly, I need her to show me the same in return.
“May I?” I ask, gesturing to her cell phone she’s clutching in both of her hands against her chest.
She nods and hands it to me. I set it to silent and place it on the table next to the room key. I do the same with mine.
“What if someone needs you?” she asks.
Kissing the delicate skin behind her ear, I murmur, “Doyouneed me?”
Dani’s breath hitches ever so slightly, her head tilting to allow me better access to her neck. To her. “Yes, I need you,” she says. “I need you so damn much.”
“You’re all that matters to me right now. I’m here to focus on you and how fucking good I can make you feel. I’m here to focus onus. Everyone else can wait. It’s not about excluding Crew and Nathan. It’s about being present in the moment, right here, right now, and this moment happens to just be the two of us.”
“I like that,” she says, and she gives me a shy smile, tucking her adorable little chin and glancing up at me from under her eyelashes. “I’m here with you. Fully open.”
That Dani still can be coy with me in any way both amazes me and turns me on. “Oh, you’re about to be fully open, trust me.”
Dani’s cheeks turn pink and the tip of her tongue darts out to dampen her lower lip. She giggles softly. “Show me what you mean,” she says flirtatiously, drawing the back of her fingers across her chest, bringing my gaze to her cleavage.
“I’ll definitely show you, my sweet, sexy girl,” I say, dipping my head so that I can suck on the swell of her breast. “Showandtell.”
Though we’ve done enough talking tonight, in my opinion.
