Suddenly, harp music starts to play, drifting through the woods, and the crowd goes quiet. I suck in a deep breath and turn toward the aisle, my heart threatening to beat straight out of my chest. Emily emerges first from behind the trees—the maid of honor—wearing a dress of pale pink. I catch sight of her husband, Axel, staring at her like his eyes might pop out of his head. As she reaches the top of the aisle, she whispers, “Good luck,” to me before taking a seat beside her husband.

A moment later, the music changes, an ethereal harp version of Here Comes the Bride. I’m supposed to face away from the aisle when Daisy walks in, but I can’t. I’m so desperate to see her. I see a floating white figure through the trees, and suddenly, Daisy walks out. The crowd turns to stare and beam at her, and the harp keeps playing and the lanterns flicker and the trees sway in the breeze, but I don’t notice any of it. The whole world has melted away. Except for Daisy. My beautiful Daisy.

She’s wearing a flowing white gown, the lacy material accentuating her gorgeous curves. There’s a bouquet of wildflowers in her hands, and her glossy brown hair streams past her shoulders like a chocolate waterfall. When those bright green eyes find me across the aisle, she beams widely. She looks like an angel. I can’t believe this woman is about to become my wife. As she walks toward me, getting closer and closer, I feel a tear slide down my cheek. I don’t know what I did to deserve this perfect woman, but I’m going to spend the rest of my life making sure that she is happy. I want to see that beautiful smile every day.

When she reaches me, she hands her bouquet over to Emily and takes both my hands in hers. Her eyes are sparkling with tears as we smile at each other. There’s pure love coursing through my veins, and I reach up to cup her cheek, stroking her soft skin with my thumb. Brett has started talking to the crowd, but I don’t hear a word he says. I’m too focused on my perfect bride.

“You look so beautiful,” I tell her quietly as Brett continues his speech.

“Thank you.” She smiles. “I feel beautiful.”

Her words tug at my heart. Learning to love herself has been a journey, but Daisy’s confidence grows every day. After years of insecurity, she’s finally learning to embrace her gorgeous curves, with some help from Emily along the way. Watching my girl’s self-confidence blossom makes me so fucking proud of her, and I make sure to tell her as often as I can how gorgeous she is.

“You look very handsome in your suit,” she says, keeping her voice quiet. “I like that I can still see your tattoos.”

I grin at her before forcing my attention back to Brett as he presents the rings and starts the exchange of vows.

‘Okay, let’s do this,” Brett mutters to himself before he projects his voice so the whole crowd can hear him. “Do you, Nash Stirling, take Daisy Capello to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to love her unconditionally, support her dreams, celebrate her triumphs, and stand by her through times of challenge? Do you promise to choose her now and forever, for as long as you both live?”

It's the easiest question I’ve ever been asked.

“I do.”

A tear runs down Daisy’s cheek as I take the ring from Brett and slide the golden band onto her finger where it rests beside her sparkly engagement ring. My heart melts with love for her as Brett repeats the vows, asking her the same questions.

“Do you promise to choose him now and forever, for as long as you both live?” he finishes.

“I do.”

Daisy takes the ring and slides it onto my finger, her soft skin brushing against my calloused hands. We grin at each other, and my pulse quickens as I wait for Brett’s next words.

“I now, very happily, pronounce you husband and wife,” he says, looking between us with a smile. “Feels a little weird telling my sister to kiss somebody, but hey, it’s your wedding day, so I guess you guys can go ahead and kiss now.”

Everyone laughs and Daisy giggles with delight as I lean in to kiss her hard, smiling against her lips as the crowd explodes into cheers and whistles.

Husband and wife.

I pull away from her sweet lips to look down at her, my cheeks hurting from smiling so hard. She’s glowing with happiness, and I lift her into my arms, twirling her around, her dress flowing out like a whirlwind of snowflakes.

“I love you, Mrs. Daisy Stirling.”

She laughs with delight. “I love you too, Mr. Stirling. My perfect husband.”

Husband. The word makes my heart soar.

“It’s just you and me now, baby,” I say.

Daisy smiles, her eyes gleaming. “Well, for the next nine months anyway.”

My jaw goes slack. “You mean…”

She nods. Daisy and I have already talked about how much we want to raise a family together, but I never thought we’d be blessed with it so soon. It’s true that we’ve barely kept our hands off each other since we first got together, but damn, it’s hard to believe I could be this lucky. A husband…and now a father?

“You’re sure?” I ask, hardly daring to breathe.

“Positive.” She grins at me. “I wanted to keep it a surprise until after the wedding but I just couldn’t wait any longer. I was too excited to tell you! And everybody else too!”

I laugh with delight, wiping away a stray tear as I turn to the crowd and shout, “We’re having a baby!”

There’s a collective gasp and then several shrieks of joy as everybody rushes up to us. Everybody is hugging Daisy, hugging me, patting us on the back, Emily is jumping up and down, Ava is screaming, and Nash and Brett are crushing me on either side, hugging me tight. It’s happy chaos, and I meet Daisy’s gaze as our loved ones converge, my heart swelling at the sight of her. I lean down and kiss her soft lips, my hand reaching automatically for her belly.

I’m the luckiest man in the whole damn world, I think to myself.
