"I’llleave you to get dressed." Dr. Mitchell discreetly left themalone.

"Green andblue." Odette murmured as tenderly wiped away the gel.

"What about it?"

"The nurserycolors. Green and blue." Taking his hands, she let him help heroff the bed and into the circle of his arms. He held her there, soovercome he couldn’t speak. "With antique furnishings. I’mgoing to search the antique stores-" She broke off as hegathered her closer to him and buried his face into the side of herneck.

His body was shakingand she could feel the beating of his heart. Her arms went around himand she felt tears at the back of her eyes. He’d come to her atthe cabin three months ago to make amends and something had blossomedeven more between them.

From that point on,she’d moved into his loft and never looked back. She loved himand he’d proven to her that it was returned. He was there forher every step of the way. Now they were having a son.

"I can’tsufficiently thank you." He whispered hoarsely as he lifted hishead. His cheeks were damp and she felt her heart turning over.

"You don't haveto. I have a vested interest."

"Marry me."

"What?" Sheblinked at him. The one thing he’d been denying her had put ahitch in her happiness. He’d kept his promise and had gone tomeet her father who, for some reason, was hanging onto life.

Lydia had been askingher about the wedding and she’d told her sister she wasn’tgoing to rush him. "In his own time." In her heart, she’dbeen concerned as well as resentful. She needed his proposal.

"Marry me."He whispered hoarsely, hands cupping her face, expression intense."I’ve been working up the courage to ask you for weeks nowand it seems like the right time. It doesn’t have to be a bigceremony, unless you want one, but I want you to be my wife."

One hand drifted tothe baby bump and he felt a sharp jolt when he felt his son move."We’re going to be a family. Marry me, darling."

"A proposal inthe examination room." Her smile came brilliantly. "There’sonly one thing missing."

"The ring?"

"Okay, twothings. You on your knees."

"Seriously?"

"As a heartattack."

Shaking his head ather, he got down on one knee. "Odette Annmarie Billings wouldyou do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

"To have and tohold, in sickness and in health?" She asked huskily, quotingfrom the marriage vows.

"Until death dous part." Reaching into the pocket of his suit jacket, he tookout a box and had her eyes widening in shock.

"Is that-"

"I told you I’vebeen working up the nerve to propose." He snapped the lid opento reveal a stunning square-cut diamond.

"Well? Do youlike it?”

“It’sexquisite.” Stretching her left hand out, she watched withbated breath as he slid the ring on her finger.

There was a discreetknock on the door before it was pushed open.

“I’m sosorry- Oh!” Dr. Mitchell stood in the open doorway and staredat the intimate scene before her. “I suppose congratulationsare in order.”

“Dion decidedto put me out of my misery.” She told the woman with a dazedsmile.

“I told her Iwas trying to work up the nerve to propose.’ Rising, he wrappedhis arms around her. “She said yes.”

“As if Iwould have said anything else.” She chided.
