I don’t reply.

“Ah.” Thomas sighs. “Is this related to Pretty Blue Eyes by any chance?”

I call her Angry Blue Eyes, but… technicalities.

I grunt in the affirmative.

“Sorry, bro, but I don’t speak caveman,” Thomas says, chuckling on the other side. “You need to give me a few more specifics.”

I knew this wouldn’t be easy. I close my eyes and explain my plan to Thomas. “Can you do it?”

“This close to the date? It’s going to be hard.” Thomas coughs to clear his throat. “But for you, Gabriello, I’ll make it happen. I won’t even ask for anything in return,” he concludes, his tone imbued with brotherly sanctitude.

“You mean besides the million favors I do for you on a regular basis?”

“Now, let’s not score count. You’re my brother, and out of the goodness of my heart, I’m going to deliver the impossible to you.”

“Call me when it’s done.”

“Yes, master,” Thomas says in a silly, shrill voice.

We hang up, and I drop my head in my hands. I hope she’s worth it.

BLAKE

“Now come out of the port de bras standing tall.” I guide Amita in the move as we finish a livestream of an early-morning introductory ballet session. “And we’re done.”

I clap, then, staring into the camera of my phone, I add, “I hope you enjoyed today’s lesson and if you want to find out more about ballet and dancing, you can check out my website for my free dance courses, the link is in my bio.” I take Amita’s hand and lift it. “Now give it up for Amita who helped us today, and see you next time…”

I go to the tripod and turn off the livestream.

“Uhf.” I let out a puff of air. “That was great, thanks again Ami.”

“Don’t even mention it.” She hugs me. “I would’ve never gotten into dancing if it weren’t for you. I’m happy to give back to the community.”

“Yeah, I love how many new recruits we’re bringing in.”

“Speaking of new recruits.” She flashes me a teasing grin. “Is the new guy going to become a regular?”

I don’t need to ask who the new guy is.

“He’s not,” I say definitively.

“Pity, he was kind of sexy.” She nudges my shoulder. “So who is he? Your boyfriend?”

“No, nooo. I don’t have a boyfriend. I’m single. Totally single, and happy. I’m happily single…” And ranting apparently.

“Okay.” Amita smirks. “What a shame, though, he had a really nice butt.”

I play dumb. “Did he?”

“Oh, come on, don’t pretend you didn’t notice.”

I blush for no reason. “Okay, he had totally bitable buns.” Not happy with just the inappropriate comment, I make a grab-and-bite gesture, and that’s when Evan crashes into the dance studio, yelling, “You’re still live.”

“What?”
