Before I say yes, I notice her pink top, and suddenly Abigail comes to mind.

Is it right to sign a woman’s tit and then go on a date, with the intention of hopefully getting laid too?

An inkling says it isn’t, and I rub the back of my neck.

“Sorry hun, I’m all tapped out with extra signings. But I’m happy to sign your book or merch.” I plaster on a smile, feeling weird to have said no. I never say no to women.

Her grin falls, and she nods, giving me her book and clears her throat.

“Just on the corner here, thanks. You’ve, uh, helped me realize my potential in a poly relationship, by the way. So, I just want to say thanks for showing me it’s okay to be in a polyrelationship without being judged as promiscuous.”

Dismissing the awkwardness earlier, I grin with pride, because despite what Abigail may think, my book does help people. In ways I never imagined.

As the line lessens, and a handful of people ask me for similar things, a smooth voice in my earpiece pulls my attention.

“Jaxon, you’ve got five minutes left. Your hour and half are ending soon and looks like a success too!”

I thank her with a discreet nod and continue on with the signings.

Once I go through the last five attendees, Greg appears with a smile and says, “That’s all for today. Thanks for coming by to get your books signed. For any merchandise, please check out jsunters.com and keep an eye on his socials for any future events.”

As the readers filter out, I finally sit back in my chair, leaning back as I check my phone. I’ve had it on silent and felt a buzz in my pocket earlier.

Abigail: If you ever want to come by and listen to me speak, I’m in room 4, level 2 :)

Fuck. I forgot she has no idea I’m here for the same reason as she is. We never spoke about it, andI never bothered to check the program. I told Greg that whilst I’m staying here, my focus was on me and sex on legs.

I hastily respond, considering the message was an hour ago.

Me: Hey, sorry. Was busy so didn’t see your message. I’ll see you tonight tho.

Abigail: No problem.

“Jaxon, you’ve done well.” Greg says, making me look up and see him counting cash. I sold some books and merchandise, which is the usual, but Greg is usually on top of that before I get to it.

His job is to maintain my sales and make sure things are in line. I don’t want to deal with that shit, so I put my trust in him.

I stand up and walk over beside him to check out the leftovers. Only a handful of things left.

Grinning, I slap him on the back.

“Let’s take the rest to my hotel room and then chill. I’m busy at 5.30 but can spend some time until then.”

Greg sighs and says, “Finally, you are back. I missed my pussy loving partner in crime. I say we hit up the bar and head over to the beach. It’s getting pretty hot outside, which means bikini time.” He finishes with a gleam.

I suppress an eye roll because the things he says are becoming exasperating and I just want to chat with him. Not focus only on women, especially because my focus is already on one.

And he will never find out otherwise everything will be ruined.

Chapter Seventeen

ABIGAIL

“Thanks Dean,” I say to the man who set up my table. It’s nice to have some help to organize things before the signing, which starts in ten minutes.

I adjust my dress and hair, and just as I do, people enter the room. My eyes widen at the sudden influx of people who line up. Of course, I cover my surprise with a bright grin.

This is going to be a long hour and a half.
