Patrick snorted and reached for my hand. “They’re your pack now, too, Mariam. Honestly, I’m kind of jealous that you know what you want out of life. I thought we would be together, at least as friends, but I guess--”

He was cut off by Trace’s bellows from the hallway. I paled, my eyes wide as I looked at Patrick. He was sitting on the bed with a pillow on his lap but was otherwise still completely nude. “You’ve got to get dressed!”

“My wolf tore through my clothes when he forced the shift,” he answered sheepishly. “I left Dark Claw in a hurry and didn’t really pack anything else.”

“Mariam!’ Trace pounded on the door. “You have thirty seconds to open this door, or I’m coming through it.” It wasn’t an idle threat. Memories of him shattering the guest bedroom door were firmly planted in my mind.

“Just a minute!” I hollered back. Turning to Patrick, I gave my friend one chance of survival. “I’ll see if there’s anything you could wear at the gift shop. You need to shift back, so my mate doesn’t start breathing fire when I let him in.”

Patrick gave a short nod, and the sound of his bones setting again filled the room. Soon, the silky black wolf reappeared at my side. I gave him a scratch behind the ears and stood to face the music.

“I’m opening the door, Trace,” I said loudly. I wasn’t sure why I felt the need to warn him, but I did it anyway. I turned the handle, my eyes lighting up as soon as I saw him standing there.

His first reaction was to pull me to him, holding me so tight that I couldn’t take deep breaths. His hand felt my hair and tilted my face upward to study my eyes.

“I swear to the moon goddess, wayward mate if you ever—“

“I won’t,” I promised, reaching around his neck to pull him down for a kiss. There was an urgency as he claimed my mouth that caused a heavy tug in my lower stomach. It continued to spread, heating my sex from within and setting my body on fire. From the hallway, Randy cleared his throat, stepping around us and into the room.

“Good to see you in one piece, Mariam,” he said, taking in the room around him. I untangled myself enough from my mate to turn and look at the other man.

Trace’s arm remained fully planted across my chest, holding my behind firmly against his front. I could feel his hardness as it jutted against my ass. I wiggled a little, which did little to ease his predicament.

What did help was him surveying the room with his beta. The honeymoon suite felt even more ridiculous with all three men in the room.

“Care to explain all of this, Mariam?” Trace asked, gesturing to the couple’s tub and single bed.

“I’m sure it’s the only room that was available,” I answered, unable to contain my laughter. My mate’s eyes remained hard, but his lips twitched. We never even made it an entire night, and the bed and Jacuzzi we both obviouslyunused. Besides, my thoughts had already revealed that nothing had happened between us, and the only scent from Patrick I carried came from his wolf.

Randy eyed the animal with a quizzical expression. “Why is he in wolf form? Is he too scared to face us as a man or something?”

Patrick’s wolf growled at the jab, wanting to assert himself as an equal to the beta. I scowled on his behalf, too. Patrick wasn’t a coward.

“No,” I huffed. “His wolf forced a shift when he woke up, and I wasn’t here. He was wearing the only clothes he had, and we thought wolf form would be better than straight-up nudity. Or should he change back?”

Trace squeezed me tighter, and the sound of disapproval vibrated in his chest. Randy nodded his understanding. “I’ll go see what I can find for him.”

I gave him an appreciative smile. I wasn’t really sure where I stood with Randy personally, but he seemed to always pull through when he was needed.

There was only one thing left to do: I closed my eyes and restored the mental connection between Trace and me. My wolf spun in circles before tackling her mate. She playfully nipped at his ears, trying to get him to chase her. He howled and took off after her.

“He’ll catch her soon enough,” the alpha of Tumblewild whispered in my ear. “And you owe me a prize for winning our bet and tracking you down in this hotel. It was way too easy. Your intoxicating scent brought me right to this spot.”

Ifeltmyself start to melt again, but I stopped short when I remembered that Patrick was still in the room. While the human would have probably given us privacy long beforenow, the wolf was more curious about our exchange. He tilted his head as though our words were odd to him.Of course, he wasn’t privy to the things we shared between our minds.I wondered if the animal even knew how Trace and I connected mentally, having never experienced it for himself.

“Let’s get out of here,” Trace said, reaching down behind my knees and pulling me into the air to carry me out. He let the door slam behind him.

For some reason, I found it inexplicably hilarious that Patrick would need to shift to open the door for Randy and receive his new clothes. I wondered if the beta would just hand them over or toy with the naked werewolf a little. And then there was the matter of the sleeping arrangements that night.

Trace grinned at the thought of our two best friends sharing the honeymoon suite. I couldn’t wait to fill Justine in on what happened when we returned home.

__________

“Harder,” I pleaded, trying my best not to broadcast my desire to the other patrons of the hotel.Being able to feel my mate’s pleasure, as well as my own, was almost too much to handle. My reactions were probably going to get us kicked out of our room.

“But I love to hear you scream,” Trace whispered, leaning forward so I could feel his warm breath on my neck.He gave me what I asked for and started pounding into me with increased vigor.“Scream for me, mate.”

His command was my undoing, and I cried out my release. The mental connection we shared gave us both ataste of how the orgasm felt for me and combined it with the effect it had on his body.
