Ichuckled at her excessive mum-use of punctuation. I would ask him; getting out of the house would do him good. A private message from Ava popped up on my screen.

Ava: Who is it, Kat? Are they hot?

Kat: I don’t even know if he’d like to come. It’s my roommate.

I sent her an eye rolling emoji back.

My mum added to our group chat.

Judy: Let me know if they have any dietary restrictions, or other requirements. I’ll get the guest room ready.

Kat: Thanks mum! No pork, but I’ll ask if there’s anything else.

A ping alerted me to a new message in the private chat with Ava.

Ava: As if he’s not sharing your room…

Kat: You’re the worst

Ava: You know you love me best. Can’t wait to meet your “roomie”

She got another eye rolling emoji from me before I logged out of my messaging app to check for flights, only to find that every last seat of any flight down to London was already booked.
