Star laughs, her breath misting in the air. "You're one to talk."

I join her, leaning against the railing. "How are you?"

She shrugs, handing me her smoke. "I'm alive."

"That's the spirit." I breathe it in, feeling the familiar buzz hit me. My nerves are already shot, and this is going to give me the jitters, but I just...I want to touch her.

I want to be close to her.

"You come here often?" she asks, her voice teasing.

I shrug. "Whenever I can."

"Why is that?"

There's something in her eyes, something that makes my stomach flip.

I stare right at her. "I like the view."

She laughs, tilting her head back to reveal the graceful line of her neck. "You're cute, Angel."

My hand itches to touch her, to trace the freckles that dance across her shoulders. But I can't--not here, where anyone could see.

"So...you've been talking about me," I murmur.

She smiles. "Just with some of the girls."

"Only nice things?"

"I only have nice things to say, so yeah," she says. She bites her lip and meets my eyes. "I told them you're going to be our knight in shining armor."

"I'm not...I'm not that," I mumble.

Her tongue glides over her lips.Fuck, I want her so fucking bad I can hardly breathe. And up here above the skyline, with fog rolling in off the sea, it's worse.

"I can't save all of you," I say.

"You only have to save me," she says. "I'll worry about the rest."

I can hear Luka and Rook in my head, telling me how stupid I am. Aisling is gorgeous, alluring...and smarter than I originally gave her credit for.

I'm in deep, and I don't want out.

"Why'd you come here tonight, Gunnar?" she asks.

I think of how good she tastes on my tongue, how her soft moans have been the soundtrack for my sweetest dreams all week. "I missed you."

Her lashes lower, her breath hitching. "Is that a fact?"

"It is," I say, stepping closer. "You're all I can think about."

She bites her lip, looking up at me. "Do I scare you?"

"A little," I say, tracing the line of her cheek with my thumb. "But I think I'm into it."

Her breath hitches as I lean down, brushing my lips against hers. A soft sigh escapes her, and I press in harder, tasting the sweetness of her mouth. She kisses me back—God, she kisses me back—and I pull her closer, feeling the warmth of her skin against mine.

"Not here," she breathes against my lips. "Someone might see."
