Oh fuck. I mutter as I think about those hot lips again—soft, plump, and juicy, wrapped around my dick And I couldn’t stop kissing her once we started.

I wanted to get her off when I saw her at the stadium, but she seemed hesitant with her leaving the next day. I don’t blame her. And the fact she didn’t immediately jump on me because I’m Ashton Rivers, star defenseman of the Seattle Hawks, only made me want her more. I’m needy for it. I’m needy for her.

I think about Maddison sliding her mouth up and down my hard cock, ramrodding down her throat. I love giving and receiving head more than anything in the world. A couple more pumps and I’m shooting my load all over myself, moaning out loud as the sensation takes me over and pulls me under.

Oh, it’s so damned good. My body hums to its own tune as I empty and start to slow.

Removing my arm, I crack an eye open, looking down at myself, instantly disappointed she isn’t there on top of me. God, I want her to be.

I know I have to get up, so before making coffee, I clean up and get dressed to go make breakfast.

I grab my cell to catch up on messages before I head out into the cool morning.

I know I need to text Maddison. Is it possible to miss someone I’ve only known for a few days?

Am I too much like a golden retriever for admitting it?

I don’t care. She takes away the hard edges I’ve been feeling lately, especially about things with my dad. Thank God my nightmare seems to have dissipated like it never happened.

Both things leave me feeling happy. So, I go in search of bagels.

CHAPTER 2

Maddison

Previous week

I’d heard Ashton Rivers’ name more recently—and not from the NHL—but because he’s best friends with Taylor James, the long-time love of my bestie, Emmerson Daley. Em and I have been best friends since we grew up together in Portland. She moved to Seattle later on and my parents moved to Florida, where I still live, during my gap year before college. Ashton, Em and Taylor all went to college together in Washington.

I finally met him when Em and Taylor thought it would be fun for us to get together before I left for Miami. I went to a Seattle Hawks game with Em and two of her college friends, Cindy and Susie.

I also wore his team jersey to the first live hockey game I’d ever been to, without realizing it was his number, and no idea what a defenseman even was. We met up for dinner with him and Taylor, and we chatted the entire night. Ash was so easy to talk to and I felt a connection with him right away.

The first thing I noticed about Ashton is his looks—obviously. His beautiful dark eyes, his tanned skin—and the way he holds himself. I later found out he’s half Hawaiian.

His light brown shaggy hair was pulled back into a short ponytail. Hot didn’t even describe him. The color of his eyes was a deep chocolate, and he had just the right amount of stubble, rounding up his extreme sex appeal.

I couldn't believe my ears when he asked me to join him on a stadium tour the next day. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy, so I jumped at the chance.

I think I could become a big fan after seeing that first game. I marveled at how they even stand up on the ice; I guess it’s a testament to years of training. And then there’s the speed of it.

I can’t say I’ve ever been ice skating before, I haven’t had much need for that in Florida. It’s certainly an impressive sport, and it doesn’t hurt that Ashton is completely hot.

He drove me from Emmerson's place to the stadium and showed me the behind-the-scenes spots that spectators usually don't see. Then we sat just outside the rink as no one was there.

“You know I’m totally bummed you live in Florida,” he’d said to me.

I noticed straight away he was a pretty intense guy.

“Really, why’s that?” I mused. I couldn’t help that I was smiling from ear to ear over this guy… he’s so freaking cute, and he smelled like a dream.

“Because it’s not Seattle,” he told me with a shrug. “There’s so many cool things I could show you in this city.”

I secretly thanked my lucky stars for the chance to be here after getting time off from my job as a realtor.

I was also very aware I couldn’t stop smiling around him.

“I’m just glad I got to see a live hockey game.”
