“Do you want another drink?” Worth offered, craning his neck to glance over at the bar. In the late hour, it didn’t appear to be as packed with people as when we initially had arrived.

“No.” I shook my head. “I probably should slow down a little.”

It was getting late, and I needed to keep my mind awake and receptive. It was a protection instinct that my brain automatically went into at the end of the night. I was enjoying the company of these new friends, but it was important to stay aware of my surroundings all the same. These guys were nice, but we were all just getting to know each other.

Now that I was sitting, my body was reminding me that I had just spent the last couple hours dancing… on top of being in the sun all day. I was beat.

“I am probably getting close to done for the night too.” Ethan yawned. “I hate hangovers.”

“Yeah, me too.” I propped my elbows on the table and nodded.

There were a few moments of silence between us, but it wasn’t awkward. The air was thick with sexual tension, but it was the elephant in the room that no one wanted to be the first to verbally address. I didn’t consider myself to be the type of woman to sleep with all of them at once, and I didn’t presume they were interested in a one-night stand either.

But… the idea of leaving sent a sudden chill through me. I didn’t want to be alone. I still had the unsettling perception that it probably wasn’t a smart idea to walk back to my hotel room alone. That’s when the revelation hit me like running into a brick wall.

“Hey, my friends left me,” I frowned, blurting out the fragmented thought processes of my mind.

“The dark-haired chick from the beach that was wearing the green dress tonight?” Caleb asked.

“Yeah. She just…left me here.” Maybe I was little more drunk than I thought. I had asked and they had approved, right? But… friends didn’t do that to one another. Not after a lot of drinks and dancing with strange men.

“She didn’t leave you,” Worth countered. “You’re with us.”

I arched a brow. “I don’t really know you guys, though.”

Worth feigned resentment, patting his chest over his heart. “Ouch. That one stings.”

I laughed. “I guess you all must look trustworthy to her.”

“We are trustworthy,” Ethan said, crossing his arms over his chest.

“That’s what you say…” I joked, though my cheeks were flushing. It wasn’t with embarrassment; it was with desire. I was surrounded by handsome men who were sinfully sexy. I swallowed hard and took a deep breath as I attempted not to drown in my swelling desire.

Caleb stood and preformed a courtly little gesture that was as sweet as it was silly. “I’ll tell you what, we can take you back to your hotel room if that makes you feel safer,” he offered. “I am part of the military police, remember? If you can’t trust that, who can you trust?”

I glanced at each of the guys, reading their expressions which all appeared to be laced with humble genuineness.

It was either trust these guys, or call Tamara on my phone and beg for her to come back.

“That sounds good,” I said after a pause. “You guys can be my escorts.” I grinned, keeping the conversation light.

Ethan was next to stand up, determination and protection in his expression. He took my hand and kissed it, rocking me to the core. “Shall we head out then?”

Chapter 12 - Geneva

“This is my room.” I flashed the guys a playful look as we halted at my door.

Ethan propped his shoulder up against the wall of the hallway, giving me a sizzling stare and a sultry grin.

Part of me should have been somewhat abashed by the situation, or at the very least apprehensive about having three men escort me back to my hotel room.

I wasn’t scared, not in the slightest. Off the dance floor, they had been perfect gentlemen. They gave me a sense of security. I knew they wouldn’t harm me. In fact, I was sure that they wouldn’t object or try to guilt me if I if I told them goodnight and left them with kisses on the cheeks.

I don’t remember the moment I made the decision to invite them in. It was as easy as breathing.

I swiped the rectangular flat key into the lock slot. The lock clicked, and the door handle flickered green, granting the guys access into my private world. I tossed a sultry look over my shoulder.

“Come on in.” I stepped inside.
