Chapter 16 - Geneva

“This is our stop,” Worth said as he slid his room key into the slot in the door.

“This is where the magic happens.” There was a twinkle in Caleb’s eyes that made me laugh.

“You guys are crazy.” I shook my head with amusement.

“We sure are. Come into our humble abode,” Ethan pushed past the other guys with a handsome smile. “Welcome to the Air Force Lair.”

It was a bachelor pad, to say the very least, but a tidy and clean one. I could see the reflection of their military bred backgrounds the second I stepped foot in the door. Everything was stowed away as if according to a checklist. Suit jackets and swimming trunks were hung here and there, and there was… a definite lack of a womanly touch to the apartment.

In the middle of the room there was a doorway that was open and led into another hotel room with one single bed. I glanced at the guys with a snicker.

“Which one of you got lucky enough to get the single room, and what did you have to do to earn that privilege?”

“It’s mine.” Ethan swooped in with a gallant gesture. “I’m the dominant one of our group.”

Caleb chortled. “You wish.” He tossed his wallet and room key onto the nightstand, then gave me a knowing look. “We flipped a coin for it.”

“Ah.” I chuckled and propped my knee against the side of the bed. My pulse was dangerously loud inside my head. If I dared to sit down, would these men have their way with me?

Even more promising of a question, would I stop them?

I was suddenly hit with a flushed sensation all over my body. Heat spread across me, warming my skin unnaturally.

I flicked my gaze between them. “Can I use your bathroom for a minute?”

“Of course.” Worth was the one who led me in that direction. He flicked on the light and gave me a warm smile. “All yours.”

I was short enough to go under his arm and smiled as I closed the door behind me. “Thank you.”

I glanced at my reflection in the mirror. My cheeks were rosy, and my eyes were wide and glassy with anticipation. I twisted the faucet on and splashed chilly water on my face. One part of me knew I needed to get it together, but it was as if my inhibitions had been tossed out the window into a sea breeze already drifting away.

Why, exactly, was I holding back? I didn’t normally embrace my wild streak to its holistic potential, but here I was. The three guys standing in front of me brought out a bolder side of my psyche. They gave me a sense of safety and sensuality that I was ready to explore.

I looked at my own reflection in the mirror and said, “To hell with it. I’m going to have a good time.”

I took a deep breath and gathered my composure before sweeping the bathroom door back open. I gave them an enthusiastic grin after noticing all three of them were eyeing me with eager expressions.

“So…” I trailed off, swallowing hard and trying to keep my breath even. I wanted them to make the first move. “What should we do now?”

“Are you hungry?” Caleb suggested. “You’ve been through so much tonight, you must need something to take a load off and help release the stress. I can grab some take out or something.”

There were other ways I wanted to release the stress, but I knew he was just being polite.

“Yes,” I nodded and graced him with a warm look. “Something to eat would be wonderful right now.”

Caleb glanced at Worth and Ethan. “Do you guys want to come with us?” He turned his gaze to me and it was so sincere it rippled a tantalizing shock through my body.

“You’ll be safe. We’ll only be gone a few minutes,” he promised.

“Why don’t you two go, and I’ll stay here to keep Geneva company until you get back,” Worth proposed.

Caleb and Ethan exchanged a glance of discontentment, but they didn’t grumble. “Sure,” Caleb shrugged, grabbing his room key. “Come on,” he nudged Ethan. “Let’s go get the lovely lady some refreshments.”

As soon as they were gone, the room went silent, but the sexual tension wavered in the air. Worth’s eyes were piercingly gray, like a slick stone caught under a rushing brook. He slowly approached me and took my hands in his.

“You are stunning,” he whispered, and his words sent a sexy pulse up and down my spine.
