“Agincourt Bank? How could someone like Paul Masters ever meet someone from Agincourt? You must be mistaken.” Joshua’s growing irritation at Paul’s possible good luck was showing.

“I thought you were finished with Paul?” he stated accusatorily and crossed his arms on his chest. “It sounds like you’re jealous.”

“I am definitely not jealous of Paul.” Joshua rolled his eyes. “I am completely done with him, but he doesn’t get to win.” Lance just shook his head, not sure of how to respond. “He wasted a year and a half of my life, so he doesn’t get to win.” Joshua’s voice continued to rise.

"You'd be wise to put Paul out of your mind and just live your life," Lance told him and patted his arm. "Focusing on his demise will not bring you happiness."

"I'll put Paul out of my mind and forget him just as soon as I ruin him." Joshua snapped. He decided not to go up to the apartment and rather sped out of the parking lot and headed back to Lance's townhouse on the waterfront. He needed a plan before he confronted Paul.

"If Paul is as calculating and unpleasant as you have described him, then he won't be with Mr. Dobre very long. Could be just a one, you know, easy pickings, and Sloan Dobre will be gone before the night is over." Lance tried to pacify him, and Joshua visibly calmed.

"He was perhaps desperate, and there was Paul throwing himself at him. You're probably right because Paul has neither the class nor the position to entice someone from Agincourt Bank." Joshua planned to research Dobre as soon as he got home. Wouldn't you know that Paul, with his dumb luck, would land such a catch on one of his rare nights out?

"Paul is very good at looking pathetic, so I'm sure that drew him in." Joshua continued bashing Paul, incensed by the fact the man wasn't sitting at home crying and depressed over their breakup.

Lance was no longer commenting on his ravings and was seriously contemplating putting Joshua up at a hotel for the night. It was becoming clear to him now that he’d allowed Joshua to move in much too quickly. "Drop me off at my townhouse, and I'll make a reservation for you at the Ritz-Carlton. We can meet tomorrow for lunch and discuss what it is we want from this relationship."

After two months of dating and then five days of living together, suddenly Lance had no idea who this man was. Joshua had been happy and fun to be with until his ex-boyfriend started dating in the upper leagues.

"That's not necessary. I absolutely hate Paul, and seeing him do well is hard for me, but I'll let it go for you. I will let it go." He said and turned to Lance, briefly gauging his reaction. "It shocked me is all because he doesn't deserve to be happy after everything that he has done to me." Lance just kept nodding his head but did not make eye contact and did not respond.

"Let's go home and have a few drinks and enjoy ourselves," Joshua suggested, realizing too late that he'd taken his anger over Paul a little too far. He reached out and took Lance's hand in his.

"Drop me off, and we'll meet tomorrow at two in the restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton. We need some time to think. I booked you a nice suite. You'll be comfortable." Lance was adamant, so all discussions ended.

"See you tomorrow at two," Lance said and stepped out of Joshua's car.

"I'll be there, and I'm sorry for upsetting you."

"Figure yourself out and let me know what it is you want. We'll talk tomorrow." Joshua nodded, and Lance closed the door and headed inside. Joshua drove away and could think of nothing but Paul and his new man having the night of their lives while he was kicked to the curb. Paul was going to pay for this and pay dearly, he vowed as he drove into the Ritz-Carlton and handed his keys to the valet.

CHAPTER THREE

Sloan stayed close to Paul, keeping his arm loosely around his waist. The scent of this man was out of this world. Nothing had ever smelled so good. His vampire essence was pushing to the surface, wanting to taste and claim. He stood behind Paul and dropped several kisses on his left shoulder while he was unlocking his apartment door. It took him several tries because he was focusing on Sloan instead of the lock as it should be.

Sloan reached around, took the key, and unlocked the door, pushing it open and following Paul inside. He should have looked around and commented on the place, but all he could think about was getting Paul naked and horizontal. Paul turned on the lights, but Sloan turned them off again.

"We don't need lights, sweetheart. I know what I want, and I think you know as well." Sloan was being aggressively blunt, but he couldn't help it. He had to put his mark on this beauty and claim him as his own.

“We don’t need lights.” Paul agreed and began pulling on the buttons of Sloan’s shirt.

"Bedroom," Sloan stated, and Paul eagerly grabbed his hand and pulled him down a short hallway off the kitchen to a large bedroom. Again, they left the lights off because there was plenty of light outside the window shining in and giving the room a soft glow. It was perfect. Their needs were pushing them, and Sloan was pleased with Paul's eager responses and obvious desire. "I want you naked, baby. I want to feel you in my arms and body wrapped around mine."

Paul immediately pulled his light sweater over his head and tossed it away, and that was followed by his shoes, socks, and then his pants. In just a few seconds, Paul was standing before him in just his briefs, looking needy and wanting, and Sloan was prepared to give him everything he wanted.

Again, Paul began pulling at Sloan's clothing. His approach was a bit clumsy, but Sloan couldn't help but love it. Paul's enthusiasm was a delight. Sloan helped, and soon they were both down to their briefs, but Sloan didn't stop there. He quickly slid off his briefs, giving Paul a full view of his throbbing cock.

"You are gorgeous," Paul said and reached out to stroke Sloan's hard cock. The moment that Paul's hand touched him, it was like fire, a hot, delicious feeling that sent sharp sensations raging through his system. He dropped his head back on his shoulders and moaned, loving the ministrations of his most adored.

Suddenly, Paul was on his knees and taking Sloan's length down his throat, and the way he vibrated with his throat and tongue was amazing. Sloan threaded his fingers through Paul's red curls and began thrusting, glorying in the heat and the pressure.

"Take it all, sweetheart. That's so good." He praised and continued thrusting, losing himself in the moment, but when he was on the edge, he pulled back. Paul was not pleased and tried to recapture his prize, but Sloan took a step back.

"I want to be inside you when I come, sweet baby." Sloan needed to feel the embrace of his adored and begin their process of bonding. Paul was not aware that he was about to become the everlasting love and the vampire's most adored.

He would become cognizant of the fact that something was different; something had changed the moment Sloan emptied inside of him and fed, leaving a bonding scar. The bond that would open his mind to everything could take up to twenty-four hours after the carnal ritual had been completed.

There have been several bonds completed this year, and the average time for the bond to seal has been between twelve and twenty-four hours. Sloan would stay near his adored, for when his mind opened to the paranormal world, he would need Sloan's support. It was Friday night, and he was confident that he could convince Paul to spend the rest of the weekend with him.
