I soften. Okay, I can understand that. As angry as I am, Echo is my first priority, I don't want him to do anything he doesn't want to.

Sighing, I concede, "Fine. But I still want to do something. This is on the venue."

He thinks, "Okay, how 'bout this? You can publically make a statement against them. That's just as, if not more powerful than a lawsuit. And easier. We don't need their money."

He's right, we're not hurting for change, and this could work just as well.

"Why didn't I think of that? You're so smart."

"Your anger blinded you."

"No excuse to act like an animal," I face the rest of the crew, "Alright boys, pull out your phones. We have some things to say."

By the time Fallon, our manager, approves every post, including the one for our band page and they're all posted the venue's reviews tank almost immediately. We also added that we'll never perform there again for good measure. Hopefully it inspires some change.

Apparently they're under new management and that was why security was lacking. I really don't care what the reason was. Echo could have been hurt. Anyone could have been hurt. It's irresponsible on their part.

Hours later, my phone rings and I answer.

"Hello?"

"Hey Callum," The man who I recognize as Detective Lauter says "Got another update for ya."

"Yeah?"

"Because of the overwhelming evidence against him, he will serve a few months in jail, and your request for a restraining order was approved. It's a felony if he violates it after release. You don't have to go to trial."

I blow out a breath of relief. He's gone, and if he tries to return he'll be gone longer. I wish he was going to prison, but I understand that's not possible given the circumstances.

"That's great to hear sir, anything else?" I don't want to rush him but if that was all, I need to tell Echo.

"That's all for now, son. You probably won't hear from me again. God-willing."

"Okay, thank you Detective."

"You're welcome, have a good tour. Give Echo my well wishes."

I hang-up and check my hotel keys to make sure I have both.

Echo is showering when I enter his room, I can hear the water running, so I sit on his bed and wait.

He gasps when he sees me. "Jesus Callum, what are you doing in here? I'm too tired to fuck."

"I didn't come to fuck," I grin. "I have great news."

Echo dresses as I fill him in. "I'm so glad I don't have to go to trial."

He sits beside me, snuggling under his covers, "I'm glad this wont be even bigger than it needs to be. I'm so ashamed that I brought this on."

"Hey," I hold his jaw, gazing into his emerald eyes, "This isn't your fault. You couldn't have predicted this."

"If I had just stayed at the studio that day…"

"Something else would have happened another time. This is life. If there's anyone to blame it's that creep and the venue. Not you."

"Thank you." he says, kissing my temple.

My heart expands every time his lips touch me. I pray for the day they'll touch mine again.
