“How thoughtful.” She sighed and leaned back against his chest. The water felt like heaven to her sore muscles.

“Relax, baby.I got you.”

She knew that, and she hoped he would never let her go.

Chapter 20

Jameson wasn’t shocked when he awoke the next morning to find Morgan already out of bed and the sheets cold.He had hoped he had worn her out enough he could wake her in a new way.His hard cock was on board for that even though the thing should be dead to the world.

He’d lost count of how many times he had made love to Morgan over the past day and a half. He’d bathed her yesterday to help ease any soreness he knew he’d caused, but it was hard being a gentle lover when she ground her naked body over his cock or took him in hand, egging him on with demands of fucking her and taking her harder.

The woman was a temptress, and he couldn’t resist her and didn’t plan on it.Not when life had given him a second chance with her.He would give her the world if he could.First, she deserved the truth.

More than once he had tried telling her that he had been there to protect her as well as get back together, but something kept holding him back.He couldn’t say what, other than he loved just spending time with Morgan.

It was nice being able to talk to her and just be with her and not have his phone blow up with calls all day.He was sure his supervisor was losing his mind not being able to get a hold of Jameson. This was the longest he’d ever gone without answering his phone.

A habit he could get used to.It was nice just sitting down and relaxing, even if multiple times he looked out the window to make sure the assassin wasn’t lurking in the shadows.

That was another reason he had ignored his phone. He didn’t want to risk something pulling him away from Morgan.

No doubt the assassin was lurking nearby, just waiting for the right moment to strike.Jameson knew he couldn’t keep Morgan sequestered in her apartment forever. They both had to get back to reality.

One more day.

He just wanted one more day of just them.No assassins. No responsibility.Nothing existed but them.Tomorrow before she left for work, he would tell her the truth.

Jameson didn’t bother dressing, hoping to lure Morgan back to bed as he went in search of her.He hadn’t bothered with clothes since Friday night. He’d put on his boxers when he needed to eat—his clothes were in desperate need of a wash—since he had some scruples about eating naked on furniture.

He found her right where he thought she would be.Sitting at her dining room table. She was even sitting in the same position as yesterday. One leg tucked up under the other, her foot resting on the rung in front of her.

“Good morning,” Jameson husked, wrapping his arms around her.

“Morning.” She leaned her head against his as if giving him a semi-hug.

“Two mornings in a row I find you here.I must not be doing a good job keeping you in bed.”

“Ha, as if you need words of encouragement for the incredible love-maker you are.Your head is already inflated enough.”

“Incredible love-maker, eh?” He grinned broadly, liking the sound of that.

Jameson could feel Morgan rolling her eyes.“As if you didn’t already know.”

“I’m sure I could ask Mrs.Donovan.Hell, half the building I’m sure heard you bellowing the past few days.”

“I’m not that loud,” she griped, ducking her head down in embarrassment because she knew it was true. She wasn’t quiet. She never had been.Jameson loved that she was loud.Telling all that he was a great lover and knew how to pleasure her.

“Come back to bed and we’ll put that theory to the test.” He started kissing her shoulder.Morgan’s head rolled to the side, he felt her melting into his touch before pulling away.

“I can’t.Not until I get this done for work tomorrow.” She waved her hands over all the papers on her desk.A map with red dots and a picture of properties was on her computer screen. He had seen it yesterday but hadn’t paid much attention to it.Now he saw it was land properties. The map was focused on one spot in upper Montana.A spot he knew well.

“What is this?”

“My client is looking for a hunting place in Phillips County.I’ve been trying to look for properties there, but they are hard to come by.” She scrubbed a hand over her face.He could hear the frustration in her voice.“I’m going to have to move my search somewhere else. He’s not going to be happy I can’t find a property in the location he’s looking for.You see this town?” She pointed to the spot on the map.“It’s an old town that multiple generations have lived in and people didn’t sell. Not for any amount of money.”

Jameson felt his blood turn to ice. That was the county Drake lived in.Up north in a remote area.People inherited land up there, not bought it.Drake’s cabin had been in the family for three generations now.

Their grandfather had built it.Their father hadn’t cared for it and so it fell into disrepair. When Drake was medically discharged from the military and lost his way, their father gave it to him as a refuge and a project to give him a purpose again.
