Cormac winks, giving me another pirate's smile.

I get a little lost in his gaze.

He's way too handsome, and I'm way too tired to deal with that fact right now. Letting my guard down around this man is not a good idea. He'll bowl me right over and leave me wondering how it happened. I don't think I'd like being handled, not even by hands as sexy as his. And this man has man-in-charge written all over him. He's used to being in control and calling the shots. In his world, it's probably his way or the highway.

My stomach quivers at the thought of shaking up his world. I want to do it. Iwantto rattle him and throw his life entirely out of order just to see what he'll do. Will he really bend me over his knee like he threatened? Or is he a little bit wild too?

I have a feeling the answer to both is the same. Hewouldspank me. Heiswild.

Cormac "Giant" Carmichael is a conundrum.

That, I did not expect. Nor did I expect the little thrill that goes through me at the realization.

I rip my gaze from his, wrapping my arms around myself.

Do not let that pretty face soften you,I coach myself.

Except…I think he's already softening me.

"You brought your motorcycle?" I ask, coming to a dead stop when I see the monstrous chrome and red Harley pulled in beside a black truck in the long-term parking lot. It's a beast of a bike. Then again, Cormac is a beast of a man.

"Don't worry, Mischief." He shoots me a grin, flashing those dimples as he hefts my bag over his shoulder. "Callum is taking Beauty. We're taking his cage."

"Cage?" My brows furrow as I glance between him and Callum, who is two paces ahead.

He hasn't said a word since he caught up to us in baggage claim. I feel guilty for running off and ruining his night, but only a little. He did call me Satan's love child. And he was looking at my ass. Plus, he ate my plane snacks when I was in the bathroom on the last flight.

Stressing him out is the least he deserves for all of that. Besides, it's not like I was going to leave the airport without him. I may not be thrilled about my current situation, but I'm not a complete idiot either. The men who killed Bellamy are dangerous. I'm not going to go running all over Houston by myself and risk unraveling all the work we did to hide where I was going. I fully intended to wait for him in baggage claim. I just wanted to make him sweat a little first.

I didn't know he had reinforcements waiting.

"Truck." Cormac jerks his head at the truck. "Figured you'd prefer it over the bike."

"You're going to let Callum take your bike?" I eye him doubtfully. He named the bike. I don't think that means he's as blasé about letting someone else ride it as he seems.

Callum snorts as if he doesn't believe it either, confirming my suspicion. Cormac's only switching vehicles because of me. He thinks I'm too delicate to handle his manly man motorcycle. But my dad and uncle have been riding since Isla and I were babies. I loved riding with them when I was younger. I used to beg them to take me out. I drove them nuts, but nothing beats the feel of the wind in your face and the road beneath you.

"We can take the bike," I say, shrugging. "I just need a helmet."

Cormac cocks his head to the side. "You ride?"

"Since I was little." I give him a pointed look. "We'll get along a lot better if you don't assume that I'm afraid of everything because I'm not. Got it?"

A slow grin spreads across his face. "Fuck. I can't wait until you belong to me."

Callum nearly chokes on his tongue.

"I hope you don't mind waiting until hell freezes over," I say sweetly, patting Cormac on the chest as I sail past him. "Because I won't ever belong to you. I'm not property."

Cormac grabs my wrist, trapping it against his ridiculously hard chest. "Never said you were," he practically purrs, that sexy-as-sin voice washing over me. "I've never wanted to bend property over and eat it until it's screaming my name. You, on the other hand?" A possessive, predatory grow rumbles in his throat.

An inferno rages to life inside me, equal parts red-hot desire and white-hot offense. No one has ever spoken to me that way. I don't even think about it. I bring my knee up, aiming it directly at his groin.

For a giant, he's fast.

He sees the move before I even finish making it.

My knee connects with the inside of his thigh, narrowly avoiding the more sensitive parts I aimed for.
