I’m about to get a BJ from Grace’s expert mouth.

But that Christmas miracle is cut short when four people’s footsteps can be heard knocking snow off their boots on the porch.

Dammit.

My brothers have terrible timing.

ChapterThree

Grace

“I can see your cards, Grace,” Wade says.

Next to me, Buck grumbles, “Then stop looking at her.”

“Dude, calm down; I wasn’t staring at your wife.”

“Ahh,” I whisper.

“What’s wrong, Grace? Sore boobs?” Charlotte asks.

“You could say that,” I say, shooting a look toward Buck. He’s still got that look of consternation.

“Buck,” I finally say. He looks up, his expression saying he’s zeroed in on my discomfort.

“I’m going to go upstairs and lie down.”

He’s instantly on his feet. “Are you sick? I’ll come with you.”

I shake my head. “No, no. Finish your game, then bring me some tea?”

“Of course,” my husband says, standing and kissing my temple.

I hand him my cards. “You can have these; I think it’s a straight flush.”

“Dammit,” I hear Wade mutter. Harley chuckles and slaps his cards face up on the table.

ChapterFour

Buck

I’ve given up on the card game and am focused on getting this stupid remote to work.

“What are you doing there, bud?” Harley asks.

I press the button again and again, but nothing happens.

“This thing is supposed to turn on lights, but I think it’s broken. You think we can work on this together?” I ask my brothers.

Presley’s eyes widen. “Oh my god.”

“What?” I ask.

“Buck, that’s not a Christmas lights remote,” Presley says, snatching it from my hand.

“It’s not? What is it?”

She turns it over. “I completely forgot I did this! My pregnant brain!”
