The only reason I’m speaking to Nero now is because I needed to ask him to go to the gallery to get the last of my Bella Donna sculptures from the storage room before Isaiah’s sister closes it down. She planned to run the gallery while her brother was under investigation for his involvement in my abduction, but then the fraud and money laundering charges hit.

Turns out, Isaiah’s involvement with Luis Diaz wasn’t the only crime my ex-boss committed. The Feds froze all of his accounts and his sister had no choice but to shut down the gallery.

“How will a vacation help me?” Nero asks.

“You can tell Father you don’t have reception so you don’t have to answer his calls.”

He scoffs. “He’d just call the concierge to be connected to my room.”

Again, I laugh. “Well, when you and Heather eventually get married, I’ll step into the line of fire to keep Father’s heat off you.”

“I appreciate that.”

I smile at his sullen tone.

Movement out of the corner of my eye catches my attention. I turn and my stomach flips as I watch Declan’s approach.

He wears a pair of navy blue swim trunks and an unbuttoned short-sleeve shirt. The breeze makes the white fabric billow open. Add in his mirrored aviators, and he looks like a model for a magazine’s swimsuit issue.

He looks delicious.

And he’s all mine.

Seeing my attention, Declan’s lips lift in a characteristic smirk. I’m immediately reminded of theactivitieswe’d engaged in on the private jet we took here… And the hot tub in our private suite…. And the changing room attached to the spa where we had a couples massage this morning.

I may have been a virgin when I met Declan, but my inexperience hasn’t negatively affected our sex life. I never knew the passion we share could exist. I always assumed romance novels exaggerated the intimacy between characters. I’m happy to be wrong. Very, very wrong.

“Cat?”

I jolt and fumble the phone. “Sorry.” I clear my throat. “I was distracted. What did you say?”

“I said I should let you get back to your honeymoon,” Nero replies, sounding amused. “I’ll pick up your sculptures today. Tell MacKenzie I said hello. And that he’s still on thin ice with me.”

“Thank you, Nero. I love you.”

“Love you too, Cat. See you when you get back.”

Declan sits in the chair next to me just as I end the call. He pushes the aviators on top of his head. “Who was that?”

“Nero. He’s going to the gallery to pick up my sculptures.”

“Good, I’m glad you’ll be done with that place.” He slides my margarita toward himself and takes a sip.

“Excuse me.” I pull the drink back. “Get your own.”

“But I want to share.”

“No, thank you. I don’t know where your mouth has been.”

An eyebrow lifts suggestively. “That’s a lie, macushla. You knowexactlywhere my mouth has been.”

A blush stains my cheeks. “You’re so inappropriate.”

“I disagree,Mrs. MacKenzie.I am nothing but appropriate when it comes to you.”

My heart flutters. “I love it when you say that.”

His teasing smirk softens with affection. “I love saying it, and I love you.”
