“Do youwantto go?” Sometimes living in a fraternity house, it felt like I’d had my fill of parties. Especially when they were almost every weekend, and I had Ella now. I was content just staying in and snuggling by her side.

Ella shrugged. “It’s not my party.”

“Mmm. Guess it’s not mine anymore, either.”

The transfer of power ceremony had already happened, which meant I was officially no longer the president of Delta Sig—just like Ella was no longer her sorority president. We’d still be involved next year, but not living in the houses, and not in leadership.

After how crazy the year had been, it was a welcome change. Time to breathe before we were thrust into the realities of post-graduate life. The so called “real world” that everyone dreaded.

My girl just rolled her eyes. “You know what I mean.” A little sigh. “It’s going to be surreal, isn’t it? Saying goodbye to all of this? Maybe even a little bittersweet.” Her eyes trailed around the room.

“Nah. This might have been our beginning, but it’s not our happy ending.”

Her lips curled up. “Oh? And we get one of those, do we?”

“Of course we do. Because you’re my Princess, and I’m your Prince Charming.” I pecked her forehead.

She furrowed her brow, pretending to look contemplative. “Notso.”

“What?”

“MyNot SoPrince Charming.” She grinned, switching positions to sit on me. “And I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Just think…” I nipped at her ear, my hands moving to grasp her waist. “We could have been doing this for so much longer if you hadn’t been so stubborn and kept running away from me.”

Ella fiddled with the shoe necklace around her neck. I was thankful every day for that pair of heels, and for whatever force brought her to me. Fate, or destiny—even sheer luck. She’d stumbled into my life and I’d been determined to never let her go.

Ella. My Princess. The love of my life.

The girl I’d do anything for.

Moving her hair to the side, I kissed her bare shoulder.

“Cam,” she scolded, like she wasn’t the one who had straddled my lap. “We have things to do.”

“Let me.” I grinned. “We can do them later.” I kissed at her neck. “Because I clearly need to remind my girlfriend how glad I am that I found her again, and just how well I’ll take care of her.”

“Mmm. Do you?” Her voice was low, dripping with lust.

“Yes.” Another peck to her jaw. “But since you need reminding…”

She laughed, and we didn’t leave the room for a long time—missing that night’s end of the semester party entirely.

Not that either of us cared.

“There’s the man himself!” James announced, his voice practically booming through the room of Adam’s apartment. “Look who made it through his year as president.”

Since he was the only one not living in a house with other students, it was our easy default throughout the year when we didn’t want to disturb other students. Especially considering Forest and James lived in the baseball and football houses, respectively. Forest would be there for the summer, since they hadn’t finished their season yet.

My friends had wanted to hang out one last time before we all went home for the summer, and I’d agreed, even if it meant I got less one-on-one time with Ella.

“Andhe got a pretty girl out of it,” Adam said, slinging an arm around my shoulder.

Ella blushed at my side, and Sutton rolled her eyes, sipping on a drink.

“Yeah, yeah, assholes,” I said, punching their shoulders, but I couldn’t keep the splitting grin off of my face. Even with all of their teasing, they weren’t wrong. It was in stark contrast to how I’d felt last Halloween—that I’d never find the person I was supposed to be with. Back then, I couldn’t even conceive the idea that I’d fall in love with the girl I met at a Halloween party, let alone plan on being with her for the rest of our lives.

“Guess we can finally go on some double dates next year, huh?” Forest asked, a smirk on his face. Like he’d known exactly how this would all play out from the very beginning. “Now that you’ll have more free time?”
