Setting my stuff down, I went to settle back into my seat, when a deep voice sounded behind me.

“Ella?”

Why did that voice sound familiar?Racking my brain, I tried to place it, but when I turned around?—

I knew the face staring back at me. The dark, combed hair. Those warm brown eyes. He towered over me—even more than he had on Halloween, since I wasn’t wearing heels.Charming.My eyes widened.

“It’s you,” he murmured, a whisper so soft, I almost didn’t catch it.

I swallowed roughly. I hadn’t seen him since I’d left his bedroom before he woke up all those nights ago. Just how I wanted it. Because if I’d stayed there, if I’d woken up next to him—it was too much.

“I—” I opened my mouth, but no words came out as my brain tried to process the information. “Cameron?” I finally choked out.

He nodded, stepping closer towards me, so I had to look up at him to keep eye contact. “Hi.”

“Hi.” I whispered the word. He was here. Charming was Cameron. Cameron wasCharming. Which meant…

Oh, God.I’d slept with the Delta SigsPresident.

Cameron Edwards. How could I be so stupid to not know it was him? I’d heard the rumors, and I hated the idea that I was just another girl he’d slept with. Maybe it was just a regular thing for him. The thought made me cringe.

I couldn’t bring myself to imagine him being with anyone else. The mere thought of it filled me with unease. Not after what we shared. But I wouldn’t screw this up for the sorority because I was lusting after him, either.

“You know,” he said, those lips that had kissed all over my body brushing against my ear. “I still have your shoes, Princess.”

My cheeks flushed. He—He’d kept my shoes? What did thatmean?

“Do you want to sit?” I blurted out, gesturing to the table. Desperately needing a way out of this topic. “I already ordered.”

He nodded, plopping into the chair in front of me.

My eyes tracked his every movement, including the way he dragged his hand over his face, running his fingers through his perfectly styled hair. “You know, I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

My eyes widened.You have?“Why?”

Did he… want to hook up again? Because I couldn’t do that. I wasn’t that kind of girl. Part of me could barely believe I’d slept with him in the first place. One-night stands weren’t like me. And yet, that night had been different.

Cameron shot me a look. “What do you mean, why?”His voice was rough. “That night was…” Perfect.

He’d been so charming. But maybe it was all just an act.

“A one time thing.” I kept my voice calm, even though I felt anything but. “We said that.” Along with not sharing our names, which seemed smart at the time and now it just felt dumb. “It was just to… scratch an itch.”

What would it have changed if I had known who he was? Everything.

But a voice in my mind whispered, nothing.Even if I wouldn’t take it back, if I didn’t regret it.

“Right.” He frowned.

Picking up my bagel, I spread a thick layer of cream cheese on it, avoiding his gaze.

I was trying to figure out howCharming, the man I’d spent the night with, was sitting in front of me. How, of all the guys in his fraternity, hewas the one I was meeting with. ThepresidentI’d been paired up with.

“Coffee for Cameron,” the barista interrupted my thoughts, and the man in front of me got up to get his own drink.

It gave me a moment to compose myself. To remember why we were there. I took a bite of my bagel, practically scarfing it down instead of saying anything.

Plopping down in his chair once again, he took the lid off his coffee—black.
