All but her own cousin are spoken for now.

If she has any more to say, Thea isn’t given a chance because both of us have become fully aware of Mason standing at the threshold of the hallway with Archer by his side. His stance is wide, hands balled into fists, and a glare that would make even other alphas piss themselves as they bow down plastered to his face.

“Go home, Thea.” His low growl brooks no argument. Not giving me another glance, she rushes past them. I can’t even give a flying fuck about how she’s getting back to her place safely.

“Thanks.” Finally, I remove my fist from the wall, only now realizing I’ll be the one who has to fix it tomorrow. “Sorry about this.”

“What exactly are you sorry for, Miles?” Mason closes the distance between us, his arms crossing before he tells Archer to head on into the bathroom.

“Fucking up with Alexa and likely causing Rylie to be unhappy? The hole in the wall? Take your pick.”

“And?”

“And?” I kid you not, my claws dig into my palms, and as I remove them, I’m gushing blood.

“And what else are you sorry for?”

“Okay,Dad.” I don’t dare roll my eyes at him, not if I plan on keeping all my teeth. So I do it inwardly before continuing. “And I’m sorry I was a dumbass for ever thinking bringing Thea was a good idea. I’m sure I’m not the only one who had to deal with drama tonight, thanks to her.”

“You’re damn straight it caused issues,” he barks, not giving me any relief. “Derek had to pull Anna away before she laid Thea out while we were doing pictures. Macy almost went hunting for sugar to put in her gas tank where her car is over at the church, and now Roper has to give up his evening to deal with her.”

“And I fucked up even more with Alexa,” I mumble.

“And what are you going to do about this now?” He huffs.

“Well, drinking is out of the question since there’s no way I could get drunk to drown out my misery, so you tell me?”Shit. That was a little bit too snippy for my brother’s liking. Honestly, I’m surprised my throat isn’t locked in his grip yet.

“Get back out there, take on Ma’s wrath, and then listen to whatever she might have to say,” he commands.

“Gee, thanks. What wonderful advice,” I deadpan.

“Your sarcasm pisses me off.”

“I know.” Huffing, I finally do what he says and head back out to the main part of the bar where my ma shouldn’t be, and I can hide.

“Miles Daniel Fischer, get your ass over here.”

No such luck for you, my friend.

Grinding my jaw, I try to school my features from my mother. Turning in the direction of the booths we are slowly morphing into a grill part of the bar, I find my ma sitting with Dad and Brandon’s parents. It’s bad enough that Nina Fischer, also known as my ma, will rip into me, but now Colette Quarters will get in a few shots, and I’ve seen how she handles her diabolical granddaughter.

I should be covering my junk before I enter the den of parents.

“Yes, Ma?”

“Wipe that grin off that mug you inherited from your father and sit your ass down,” she commands just like Mason.

“Yes, ma’am.” I slide into the booth and cover my nuts while keeping a safe distance from Ma while not looking like I am.

“I just watched Alexa run out of here like the hounds of hell were chasing her.”

“Yeah.” Reaching behind me, I rub the back of my head before she can get the chance to lean over and hit me. “I messed up.”

“Damn straight, you messed up,” she snaps.

“We could have told you that when you brought Thea with you,” Colette adds in oh-so helpfully.

“I know, and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to fix it now,” I admit.
