I wash up, toss some fruity Tic Tacs into my mouth, straighten up my dress, then pull open the bathroom door, only to come face-to-face with Miles.

“Are you okay?” he asks, voice full of concern. “I heard throwing up and Aaron was looking for you, so… I thought I’d make sure you’re okay.”

“I’m fine,” I say a little too quickly. My eyes widen. Shoot. “Really. I’m not sick. I’d never hold Emmie with a stomach bug.”

“I know you wouldn’t. Are you sure you’re…” He stops, blinking, then he tilts his head and smiles. “You’re not sick?”

I bite my lip and shake my head. “Nope.”

He looks around, then steps closer. “Are you pregnant?” Slowly, I nod, and he laughs, then pulls me into a bear hug. “Congrats, kid.”

“Thanks, Miles.”

“Does Aaron know?”

I laugh. “Yeah. We found out on Christmas. I’m about nine weeks. We told our parents, my grandpa, and Sarah and Joel, but decided to wait until we got a little further along for everyone else. Then we figured we’d wait until after the wedding so we didn’t steal any thunder.”

“But you’re doing good?” he asks.

I can’t hide my smile. “So good,” I say, resting my hand on my stomach. “All my labs look great so far. We’re crazy excited.”

“You’ve always been the mom of the group.”

I laugh at that. “And you’ve always been the dad. Look at us actually having kids now.”

“Fucking crazy,” he says as we walk back toward the ballroom where the reception is being held. “I’m really happy for you guys.”

“Thanks.”

Aaron appears from a nearby hallway. “There you are,” he says, relief washing over him.

“Don’t worry. I’m okay.”

Aaron glances at Miles, who grins at him, then moves closer. “Congrats,” he whispers, then pulls Aaron into a hug.

“Thanks,” Aaron says, as I watch them hugging. I don’t know what it is, but seeing the boys have emotional moments always melts my heart.

“Hey, there you are. Your mom just stole Emmie, so…” Amelia trails off, looking between Aaron and Miles. “Everything okay?”

“Yep,” the boys say at the same time as they step apart.

Amelia looks between them, then over at me. She does this a couple of times until her eyes flare and she smiles brightly. She grabs my arm. “Are you?”

I nod and she gives me a big hug. “Congratulations.” She turns to Aaron and gives him a hug as well. I love seeing their friendship grow. It was one thing for her to become close with the girls or even Jesse, but seeing her become closer with the guys is a sign she’s truly one of us. “So happy for both of you.”

“Thank you,” I say softly. “But we’re trying not to steal anyone’s thunder.”

“Oh, right.” She mimes zipping her lips. “My lips are sealed.” Then she glances at the guys and rolls her eyes. “It won’t matter though if anyone looks at the two of them.” Both Miles and Aaron are staring at my stomach. “You two are the worst at hiding things.”

“What are we hiding?” Dani asks, strolling over, her hand intertwined with Jesse’s.

“So am I,” Amelia mutters.

When no one answers, Dani says, “It’s my wedding day. You have to do what I say. Now tell me, who is hiding what?”

Aaron glances at me, then shrugs.

I grab Dani’s hand and pull her closer, whispering in her ear, “Since it’s your wedding, you get to decide whether everyone knows this or just you. I’m pregnant.”
