Then he proves that by beating me at a tough move.

“Just a fluke.” I say, not believing it, but thinking of ways to distract him. I unzip the cute black sweatshirt with neon splatters I’m wearing and during a slow spot, pull it off and set it aside. Underneath is only my tight black spaghetti strap shirt that shows off my boobs and a sliver of skin above the waistband of my skinny dark wash jeans.

Miles does a double take, eyes staying on me that second time as he fumbles and misses the steps.

“Oh darn,” I coo, continuing on with the dance, but his heated gaze tells me this isn’t a competition anymore. And a second later, he’s off his platform and onto mine, wrapping his arms around me and stepping down from the platform. He pushes me backward a few steps until I’m against the wall, his firm chest pressed against mine.

I part my lips, about to say something, but he crushes his mouth against mine, stealing my breath and a little gasp before I melt into his fervent kiss. I wrap my arms around his back, returning his kisses with every ounce of what he gives me. All the passion and love and endless desire.

I lift one leg, wrapping it around his waist as he grinds his hips into me, and I feel him hardening through his jeans.

And then a throat clears.

Whoops.

Slowly, Miles lifts his lips from mine. I drop my leg back down. We partially step apart and face a guy about our age who looks unimpressed.

He folds his arms over his chest. “Sorry to disturb y’all, but this is a family place. I’m going to have to ask you to stop. Or leave.”

My eyes widen, and I have to bite my cheek to keep from laughing.

He’s so serious.

Miles also bites back a smile.

“That’s okay,” I say, cheeks hot, but I’m smiling. “We probably should get going anyway.” I grab my sweatshirt and look up at Miles.

Miles nods, then smacks the guy on the shoulder as we walk past. “Sorry about that.” But the way he grips my ass tells me he’s not sorry at all.

I’m officially adding an arcade date to our regular roster because I don’t care how old we get, forgetting our responsibilities and just being in love for a few hours is the best kind of date there is.

Miles

Today’s date may have been the best one I’ve ever been on, and frankly, I can’t remember the last time I had so much carefree fun. The more responsibilities I have, the easier it is to forget that side of me, but it was good to open that part up again. Getting caught kissing her like that was icing on the cake, and because we left early, we had enough time to stop back by the apartment for a different kind of fun.

Now we’re walking hand in hand up the front walk of the farmhouse, ready for dinner with our friends and to steal Emmie back. If they’ll let us.

We walk in without knocking and find Sarah, Joel, Rae, and Aaron in the living room.

Aaron has Emmie in his arms and is rocking her and baby-talking to her as Rae watches from the doorway to the kitchen with a smile. Aaron’s going to be a great dad. Speaking of, my eyes widen as I take another look at Rae. I saw her earlier when we dropped Emmie off, but didn’t notice how much her stomach as grown.

“Hey, guys,” Sarah says brightly. “How was the date?”

“Great,” Amelia says with equal brightness to her voice.

“You two are so cute,” Rae says.

“Speaking of cute…” Amelia walks over to Rae, taking a closer look at her baby bump. “You are adorable with a baby bump.”

Rae’s smile is out of this world as she happily rests her hand on her stomach. I was excited to be a dad, but I don’t think anyone is more excited about having a baby than Aaron and Rae.

“How’s my girl?” I ask, walking over to Aaron.

He turns to the side slightly. “Pretty tired. Probably shouldn’t disturb her.”

I roll my eyes. “Dude, give me my child unless you’re going to give me that one”—I nod toward Rae—“as payment.”

His eyes widen, and a small smirk appears. “Sorry, sweetie. Daddy wants you back.” He shifts a dozing Emmie into my arms, then whispers, “But I know I’m your favorite uncle.”
