I laugh too. “Ready to celebrate?”

With a mischievous smile, she grabs my shirt and pulls my lips to hers. “Hell yes.”

“You really didn’t have a clue at all?” Rae asks Amelia as we stand near one of the gas fire pits. I’m standing behind her, arms wrapped around her. She leans against me, arm reaching up around my neck as she twists her fingers through my hair.

“Nope. I suspected nothing until we got up here and I saw Miles’s sisters and grandparents.”

“I’ll admit, I was a little afraid you wouldn’t love a complete surprise like this.”

She tips her head to the side and looks up at me, those seafoam eyes full of joy. “I love surprises. The good kind at least,” she says with a laugh. “This is the best kind.”

I brush my lips over hers, aching to do so much more. I didn’t think about what proposing to her without being alone with her right away would do to my cock. He’s been grumpy all night.

“Aw, you two are at the nauseatingly adorable stage,” Dani says with a laugh.

“Aren’t we still there?” Jesse says.

Dani cocks an eyebrow. “You’re not making out with me.”

“I can fix that.” Jesse grabs Dani and dips her back in a dramatic kiss.

“Thunder stealer,” I deadpan, and all the guys start laughing.

Jesse pulls Dani upright, then lifts his lips off hers. “Bridezilla.” He smirks at me.

“You guys are weird,” Rae says.

The conversation moves on, but I tug Amelia closer, brushing my lips by her ear to whisper, “So you liked my surprise?”

She shivers, then spins around, throwing her arms around my neck and wiggling so her body is flush against mine. “Best surprise ever. When I told you I wanted a romantic proposal, I never expected this. You swept me off my feet. Just like always. I love this.”

“Good. Because I have another surprise for you. Come on.”

Grabbing her hand, I pull her across the rooftop as she laughs. “Another surprise? If you have a minister waiting to marry us, I’m going to have to say no. I want a whole ass wedding, and while this is a perfect engagement party, it’s not a wedding.”

I pause and take her in. “Is my girl getting a little high maintenance?” She shrugs. “Well, it’s about damn time. You deserve to have all the things you want in life. No worries, I’m not trying to marry you tonight, but this does have something to do with a wedding.”

She fake pouts. “You mean you aren’t taking me to the bathroom for a quickie? I was hoping to see you squat in front of me, push this dress up, and—”

I cut her off with a kiss. “Easy, dirty girl. We both know where that leads. I’m not ready for another kid yet.”

She throws her head back, eyes dancing as she laughs. I can’t get enough of that laugh. “Please. We both know that was not when or where Emmie was conceived.”

I graze my lips over hers. “No. That was the following weekend, locked in your bedroom, where I learned all the ways to shut you up.”

“Um, ready for me?”

We turn to look at Amanda, who is looking back at us with raised eyebrows.

I straighten up, because as much as I want to have fun with my girl, I want to show her this first. “Yep.”

“Perfect, let’s go.” Amanda leads us over to the elevators and pushes the button to go down.

We ride down one floor to the entertainment hall. Amanda steps off the elevator first, and we walk into the large empty space, stopping at a table where an array of papers sit.

“What is all this?”

“Our wedding.” Amelia’s eyes flare, so I continue. “An option for our wedding. The date and location, and maybe some catering options.” My cheeks heat, but I push the feeling away, watching her reaction.
