She sucks in a breath. Then that radiant smile appears. “Only if I’m wifey.”

“Oh, you will be. I’ve been wanting to call you that for months.”

“I mean, you can start now if you want.”

I tilt my head, then graze my lips over hers again. “No. I think I’ll make you wait. Tease and tantalize you until then.”

“What else is new?” she says with a laugh.

Pushing myself upright, I grab her hands, helping her off the table. She quickly pulls her dress down as I tuck my dick back inside my pants and zip them up.

She glances over at the table. “We just fucked on our wedding plans.”

“What better place?” Wrapping a hand around the side of her neck, I kiss her, holding my lips against hers with the slightest pressure before finally lifting them away. “That was just the appetizer.”

She drags her lips down the side of my mouth, across my cheek, and down my neck, sucking on the skin before letting me go. “A delicious taste.”

“Go clean up.” I smack her ass, then watch said ass as she walks away. She looks over her shoulder at me, then winks.

I’m such a goner for this girl, it’s ridiculous. No complaints, though. August can’t come fast enough. I can’t fucking wait to call her my wife.

The sound of talking and laughter surrounds me, slightly drowned out by the soft song playing. The entire rooftop is full of people smiling and laughing.

“You guys really know how to plan a party.”

Aaron laughs as we share a dance. “It’s one of our favorite things to do. Celebrate the people we love. Plus, seeing Miles fall in love and settle down? Deserves an epic party.”

We’re both laughing now. “I know this wasn’t just for Miles.”

“No. It was for you, and maybe a bit for all of us. We’re all thrilled for you two. It’s good to see you happy.”

“Thank you. It’s good to feel happiness and enjoy it.”

“Hated happiness before, did you? Throw a temper tantrum when you had a really good cup of coffee or saw a rainbow?”

I smack his shoulder. “Shut up. You know what I mean.”

“I do. So, how are you doing overall?”

I nod slowly. “Better. Healthier. Enjoying the good moments.”

“Just remember, it’s okay when you’re not feeling any of those things.”

“I know. After everything that’s happened in the last year, and all I’ve learned in the last few months, I see the world through a different lens.”

“Growth is cool.”

I throw my head back, laughing. “You’re such a nerd.”

He shakes his head, smiling wide.

“Hey, Aaron?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m grateful for your friendship. The girls claimed me, but you sought me out to check on me. You kept texting me, building a quiet friendship between us. I appreciate that and you.” I blow out a breath. “And now I feel awkward and weird.”
