“Yes, it’s not bad at all.” That’s as much of a compliment as she’ll get from Antonio. I think she realized it’s high praise from him as her eyes light up.

As Antonio’s cellphone buzzes, he takes it from his pocket, checks the screen, and walks away.

“How is Ava feeling?” Emilia asks.

Leo shrugs. “She claimed her migraine was bad, but she still managed to yell at me for not wearing a fucking tie. How was I supposed to know this fucking thing was formal?”

“Eh, because I told you it was,” I suggest.

“Tie or no tie. I think you look very handsome, Leo.” Emilia is diplomatic as usual.

“Are you coming on to me?” Leo teases. He still can’t resist winding Emilia up, though these days she knows how to handle it.

She opens her mouth to respond when Antonio returns.

“Leo, Matteo, we have to go.” There’s an urgency in his tone that makes my shoulders tense.

“Is something wrong?” I ask.

“Vinnie Bianchi just showed up at Aphrodite’s, asking for an audience.”

My eyes widen in surprise. “Do you need me to come?”

Emilia wraps her hand around my arm and squeezes. She doesn’t want me to go.

“No, stay here.” Antonio’s lips quirk up as he sees the grip my wife has on my bicep. “Enjoy your wife’s success.”

My brothers each kiss Emilia on the cheeks and then leave. The moment they’re gone, Emilia turns to me. “Who’s Vinnie Bianchi?”

“An urban fucking legend.”

“What?”

“He’s Carlo’s missing son. Nobody’s set eyes on him since he was a baby. People started to think he was dead, or made up, or something.” I shove my fingers through my hair. “Rumor has it they sent him away so Carlo would have a spare available if anything happened to his heir, Daniele.”

“Wow, and I thought our families had juicy secrets.”

That’s an understatement, but I don’t want to think about it right now.

“Forget all that.” I pull her into my embrace. “Tonight is about us.”

A seductive smile dances across Emilia’s pretty pink lips. “Do you want to go christen a room?”

My cock twitches. “Sounds like a plan.”

“Perhaps I can teach you to use the air con.”

My eyes narrow. Emilia hasn’t let up about that ever since she found out I called her up to my hotel room in San Vicente because I really couldn’t work the damned air conditioning. It wasn’t some ruse to get her alone. She’s been merciless in her teasing because apparently a five-year-old could do it.

“Okay, you show me how to use the air con and I’ll let you admire my new tattoo.”

“You got a new tattoo?”

Taking her hand, I place it over my heart. “Right here, dolcezza. I think you’re going to like it.”

“Oh, my love, when are you going to learn? I love everything about you.”

I thread my fingers through hers and lead her across the reception area.

“I love everything about you, too,” I whisper as we wait for the elevator.

Tonight, I’m going to show her just how much I mean it.

The End
