Thalia looked stunned. “How did you know?”

“Oh, come on, Thal. We were separated at birth, but I’d like to think we’ve become close over the last couple of years. You’re glowing with happiness, and Bear has that protective shimmer in his eye again. The look that says ‘my woman is pregnant and I’m turning into a caveman’.” I giggled.

Thalia sighed.

“Bear does look like that, doesn’t he? Honestly, he’s starting to drive me mad,” Thalia admitted.

“It’s cute. Alice and Chey are also pregnant, aren’t they?” I inquired, and Thalia offered a reluctant nod.

“Yeah,” she said slowly.

“And everyone’s been hiding it from me because they didn’t want to upset me. Well, you can all get ready. I’m going to throw a huge baby shower next. I appreciate you all considering my feelings, but nobody’s celebration should be muted. You should all be shouting this from the rooftop. I bet Celt and Diesel are over the moon,” I said.

The news did cause a pang of pain, but nowhere near as bad as what I thought I’d feel. And I wasn’t lying. I was really happy for all three of them.

An image of Magic came to my mind. He’d all but adopted Alice and would go toe to toe with her blood grandfather. Willoughby had learned that Magic thought of Alice as a daughter, and that was that. And God help Willoughby should he try to come between them.

The two men had fought some bitter battles over Alice at first, only for Willoughby to finally realise that Alice looked at Magic like a dad. The proud billionaire had found it hard to accept his place in her life but had gradually done so, just thankful his beloved granddaughter was alive. And when Willoughby had discovered a second granddaughter in Sallie-Anne, well, he’d bought a house on the outskirts of Spearfish and was around a lot more than before.

“Are you certain about this?” Thalia asked.

“Of course. We’ll do a joint baby shower. Invite Rage and so on. Let’s get tomorrow out of the way, and then I’ll start planning this with Tati.”

“Okay, deal. But you tell me if it gets too much for you,” Thalia agreed.

“Thalia, grab Mia,” I said, my gaze catching on someone.

“Huh?”

“Grab Mia and Dax,” I snarled as I leapt up.

Heading straight toward the playing children was my stalker.

“Mia!” Thalia called, scrambling to her feet and heading for Mia, who was still in the sandbox with Dax. I went for Louisa Mae, who was running ahead of Isla and Olivia.

Bone noticed us sprinting and glanced around. Moments later, he was steaming towards Isla and Olivia. Slaughter ran alongside him while Wraith and Smokey headed towards me and Louisa Mae.

My heart slammed into my chest as I saw the stalker was closer. Before anyone reached her, he had snatched Louisa Mae up.

Her scream shredded my heart.

“Let her go,” I demanded.

“Come with me, bitch,” the stalker snarled.

“Anything, let her go,” I agreed.

“Move this way,” he snapped, his hand moving to Louisa’s throat.

“Don’t you dare, Clio,” Wraith yelled as he closed on me.

“He has my baby,” I shot back.

“Prick ain’t going anywhere,” Wraith retorted loudly.

“Come any closer, and I’ll snap her neck. You won’t be worried about chasing me then,” the asshole warned.

“Do not hurt her!” I screamed as Louisa’s eyes filled with tears. “Just let her go. Look, I’m walking slowly towards you.”
