“You are not sore?”

“Nope. Bed. Now.”

He laughed and carried her back to bed, then spent his time exploring her. He almost made her come with his tongue, but he was greedy and wanted to be inside her for that last delicious little shiver. This time was slower, gentler, and his cock ached as he sank into her welcoming warmth, his eyes on her face as she began to tremble beneath him.

“Give me your tail,” she whispered.

She shivered again as his tail slipped between them, the tip caressing the delicate ring, gathering her slickness before pushing in just a tiny bit.

“Do you want more?”

She nodded, biting her lip as she looked up at him, and he slid deeper. The increased fullness made her even tighter around his cock and he clenched his teeth, trying to hang on as she moved experimentally.

“Am I hurting you?” he asked, his voice rough with the strain of holding back.

“No. It feels… full. Good.”

She was panting now, her cheeks pink as she rocked against him, and he started to thrust. He raised her hips opening her more to his touch and she gave a startled gasp, then started to come, rippling helplessly around him, the tight grip bringing on his own climax as his cock erupted, filling her with his useless seed.

They collapsed onto the bed in a pile of limp limbs, and he stroked her hair back from her damp face.

“How do you feel?”

“Wonderful. Sleepy.”

“Not hungry?”

“Not now. Ask me when I wake up.”

She drifted into sleep and once again he found himself watching over her as the day turned to night. He knew the longer he stayed, the harder it would be to leave, but he stayed anyway.

CHAPTER 15

Once again Mary woke up alone and she sighed. It had been dark when she woke up after her nap the previous afternoon, but she’d persuaded him to let her cook dinner. She’d made a simple frittata with the first of the eggs from her chickens and some of the vegetables that Ferdie had brought her. As they ate, they talked and it was both like and unlike their previous meals.

She didn’t bring up any difficult subjects and they talked easily enough, but there was a simmering thread of awareness beneath their conversation. The fact that he was still holding back made her chest ache, but she suspected this was a mountain he would have to climb by himself.

Eventually he carried her back to bed and made love to her so slowly and sweetly that she found herself hoping anyway - but she still woke up alone.

She sighed and got dressed, then had a lonely breakfast before heading outside. Today she was tackling the greenhouse. Most of the plastic panels were still intact but the inside was a mess and she was determined to clear it out. Borgaz has promised toreplace the missing panes and she found herself looking through them, searching for that tall, red figure.

Dammit. She’d been so determined not to rely on him and now she missed him so much it was like a physical ache. Don’t be ridiculous. She knew he had other things to attend to in the mornings. He still could have stayed with me, at least this once, she thought grossly, yanking on a stubborn dead vine that had wound its way up the wall. It finally pulled free but it pulled a shelf down with it and it came crashing towards her. She flinched back and then Borgaz was there, pulling her beneath him as the heavy shelf crashed down on his back.

He winced but his scowl was directed at her, not the shelf, as he lifted her back to her feet.

“Foolish little fojii. Why didn’t you wait for me?”

“Because you weren’t here,” she yelled, fear and frustration driving her. “If you’re that worried about me, stop leaving me.”

He had the nerve to look surprised.

“You know I promised to help Temel.”

“That’s fine,” she snapped. “But don’t lecture me about what I do. I have a farm to get running, with or without your help. And I don’t need your help anyway.”

“You are angry with me.”

“No kidding.”
