“I think he would love that Nikki.” She grabs paper and starts drawing. I sit next to Nicole and she smiles. She leans in and I stayed still.
“It takes a real man to let a little girl polish his nails.” She whispers into my ear and a shiver went down my spine. I grab the remote and click on Netflix.
“What do you want to watch Nikki?” Nicole asks.
“Ummmm Boss Baby.” I click on the movie and Nikki finishes up her picture and places it on the side that sits in the middle of me and Nicole. At the end of the movie, Nikki yawns and whispers something into Nicole’s ear that makes her cheeks heat up and I’m very curious about what Nikki said. Her head rolls on Nicole’s lap and she plays with Nikki’s hair.
“What did she say.”
“Sorry, that is girl information can’t say.” I look up at her and shake my head now I really want to know it’s going to drive me insane. I pick Nikki up and place her in the kid's room when they sleep over and left the door cracked open so I can listen out for her.
“Are you really not going to tell me what my niece said to you?”
“Nope.” I groan and she smirks. These girls are going to be the death of me one day. Nicole looks into Nikki’s room and smiles. I wonder if she still wants to be a mom I remember she mentioned it when we were younger. If she still does I want to be the person who gives her that and will also give me the gift of being a father. I love being an uncle, but I want to be a daddy as well and now Nikki got that idea stuck in my head she’s going to be my little matchmaker helper. She’s going to be the key to helping me get Nicole for good this time.
“What’s running through your pretty little head of yours?” I ask.
“Nothing really. You are a great uncle Christopher maybe one day you will be a great daddy.” I don’t know if that’s good or not maybe Nikki put a seed in her head just like she did with me.
“Goodnight.”
“Goodnight Nicole.” She walks to her room and I walk into my own room wishing she was laying next to me. Man did Nikki do a number on me. I close my eyes and drift to sleep.
