“You wouldn’t dare.” She crosses her arms over her chest.

“Try me.” She gets out of the pool. I toss Nicole her clothes and she puts them on.

“You are unbelievable.”

“Go home now.”

“I hate you.” She storms out of the house before I could say anything. I sigh heavily. Damn that fucking hurts she has never said those words to me before and I never want to hear them again. I walk into Spencer’s office and I sank to the floor.

“She hates me.”

“No, she doesn’t.”

“No, she does she said it.”

“What did you do?” he asks with his eyebrows raised.

“I snapped when I saw her swimming in her underwear and your guards were staring at her. I lost it I told her to get dressed and go home.” Spencer shakes his head.

“You told her to go home like she was a kid again, of course, she’s going to be pissed, just because she said it doesn’t mean she meant it. What else, that can’t be the only thing wrong?”

“ATF is in town.”

“Fuck. rule one brother don’t bring work home with you, you leave it at the door once you walk in the door you get to relax with your family and don’t take it out on them.”

“Yeah, I hear you. I broke the most important rule like an idiot. How am I supposed to get her back if I’m always arguing with her?”

“Stop fighting with her for every little thing Christopher. You might be my brother, but she’s like my little sister if you keep hurting her I will have to kill you.”

“I know, trust me I’m not trying to hurt her.”

“I know, but you are and you need to stop.”

“I hear you.”

“Go home and talk to her.” I nod my head. I walk to the house and it was quiet, too quiet and I really don’t like it. I’m getting used to having kids in this house. I walk into Nicole’s room and she jumped to her feet.

“Relax I’m here to apologize. I shouldn’t have yelled at you like that I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry too I shouldn’t have gone swimming in my underwear when the guards are around it was stupid.” She looks up into my eyes and took a step closer to me.

“Do you want to tell me what happened at the clubhouse today? I know it wasn’t just me swimming half naked that set you off.” I sigh.

“I broke the most important rule, don’t bring work home and I’m so sorry for that Nicole, I really am.” Nicole steps closer to me and grabs my face with her soft hands.

“I know, now tell me what happened today.”

“ATF is in town.” Worry was written all over her face.

“Shit.”

“Don’t worry we are going to be safe and keep a low profile.”

“I can try and help.”

“Help how?”

“Do you trust me?” she asks and I looked into her eyes and I see hope in them.
