“It’s been a long day; I’ll come with you.” Garrison also rises from his seat.

“No, let me.” I join them in standing and place a hand on Garrison’s shoulder, silently instructing him to take his seat, “We have a few things to talk about before you turn in for the evening.”

I slip her arm into the crook of my elbow to help steady her imbalance from all the wine and walk her inside as Garrison takes his seat at the table.

That’s a good boy..

“I really can’t thank you enough. Ya know, for being so welcoming of me in your home,” she rambles as I help her upstairs to the largest of the guest suites.

“It’s your home now too.” I open the door and lightly usher her inside. Lifting her chin, I place a soft chaste kiss on her lips before whispering, “I think you’ll be quite happy here.”

They’re so fucking soft…

“Good night, Abigail.” I watch her fingers linger over her lips as I speak, her eyes on mine as I step from the room and shut the door.

He did fucking good.

Maybe too fucking good…

I stand outside the door for a moment, merely thinking about how absolutely amazing she is. Realizing I need to return to a waiting Garrison, I walk from her room at the end of the hall.

“Father.” Garrison is out of his seat when I exit the house. “We need to talk.”

“Yes.” I solemnly shake my head as I take the seat across from him, “We definitely do.”

“Abigail is so much more than you described her as.” I take a long sip of my old fashioned. “She might actually just be perfect.”

“That’s what we need to talk about.” He folds his arms on the top of the table and leans toward me. “She is perfect.”

“So, we agree? I don’t think I could’ve picked better if I’d found her myself.”

I watch Garrison slump back in his chair, his body language clearly telling me that he has more to say. I’m about to push the matter when my phone buzzes on the table.

EDMUND

First, did Garrison and the girl arrive? Second, I think we have a problem with the kid.

“We’ll talk more tomorrow, Garrison.” I push up from the table as I read the text. “Business. I have to deal with this.”

Yes. They made it just fine. She’s fucking incredible. You all are going to fucking love her.

Looking forward to meeting her. Soon I hope.

What’s the problem?

Rumor has it Detective Michales is investigating an assault that happened outside The Rusty Anchor.

I don’t know it was him, but let’s just say it sounds like his kind of party.

What is his fascination with these fucking dive bars? Liz can procure literally anything he wants.

Nothing is going to happen tonight. But I’ll work on her record first thing in the morning.

By the time I’m done, she’ll just be the little whore that cried wolf.

I’ll talk to him. Let him know you’re getting tired of cleaning up his messes.

When do we all get to meet this incredible beauty.
