Her hands flew as she started talking about coding and things that I could barely understand. You'd think someone so good with numbers would be a shoe in for computer science, but that was not the case with me. Numbers are straightforward. Coding required much more skill and finesse, too many pathways and back doors you had to find to things. I never could get the hang of it.

"We don't want to be a bother," I hedged, not wanting to turn down help, but also I didn't mean to make her feel obligated. "That's not what I meant at all. We don't need to be paid back."

She softened at my words and nodded.

"I knew what you meant, and I appreciate the advice. But this? It's something I can help my pack with, right? It's a give and take. This is my contribution."

A huge smile crossed my face as she called us her pack. I hadn’t exactly expected her to struggle with it, but it thrilled me that it was starting to sink in that we weren’t going anywhere.

"If you're sure."

She nodded once and gestured to my chair.

"Do you mind?"

I moved so fast the chair slid backwards, and I tried to keep my dignity as I slipped into the chair she just left. She didn't call me on my embarrassing move as she sat and got to work. I swear this omega just made me nervous in the best way. She drew me in so easily I forgot how to function.

Summer went to work, asking for information when she needed it but barely glancing away from the screen as she opened up screens and panels that I'd never seen before. Her tongue stuck out slightly as she worked, eyes squinted in concentration. I was utterly enthralled.

Soft footsteps had me looking over to see Bash leaning in the doorway. He met my eyes, and the look in his eyes was a mirror of everything I was feeling. I wasn’t the only one Summer had drawn into her web.

He gave me a wink and slipped away when no one spoke, realizing she was busy doing something. Though the look on his face told me I'd have to face an interrogation later. It wouldn't be the first. Bash has always been a bit of a gossip at heart.

"Do all the companies under Miller and Sons have the same color scheme?" I blinked at her, confused at where it came from but chalked it up to curiosity.

"The white logo with red and blue background is the official one they all have. Usually, the managers wear red, underlings the royal blue mechanic coveralls with the logo on them."

She nodded once and got back to work. Summer's assessment of our website wasn't wrong. It was done years ago, and we just never got around to getting someone to do a better job. The entire layout was primitive and practically vintage at this point.

"Done!" She announced as she stood up to offer me the chair again. "I won't get into the details, but the coding was off. If the customer did the boxes out of order, it was booting them out of the reservation. Should be fixed now. I'm going to think on a few angles still, but I'd love to update the whole thing if you'll let me? The ideas are already forming."

"After that? I'd never say no," I admitted. "Let me talk to Miller and let you know. I doubt he'd be opposed."

She smiled again before Theo's laughter filtered into the office.

"I better save Cole. A hungry Theo is no longer cute and cuddly," she admitted.

"Have dinner with us. My treat." I blurted out more like a yell than a question.

She blinked at me before her easy laughter filled the air.

"Are you asking me on a date? What if the others have plans?" Her unspoken question was full of vulnerability, what she really seemed to want to know is if they'd even want to.

"They'll be happy I asked," I promised her. "We all want to spend more time with you both. If us constantly showing up hasn’t been indication enough.”

Her cheeks pinked in a delicious way as she wrung her hands together in front of her. There was no way she hadn’t caught my interest, and I felt my nerves start to build before she finally answered.

“I’m having dinner with Beatty tonight, but I can do tomorrow?” She offered. “Maybe I can bring dessert?”

She could be dessert. I totally understood why Cole called her Shortcake.

“Dessert sounds perfect,” I said. “Come on, let's go save Cole from the hangry boy."

She followed me out with more confidence than she walked in with. It looked good on our omega. She may not realize it yet, but every one of us wanted her. Spending time with her for the last hour was filling me with all sorts of ideas too.

Dates. Dinner. Cuddle sessions. Play dates.

And so much more.
