"Coming, likely fast," I said, looking down. Now that the words hung in the air, I was afraid to look at them, unsure how they'd feel.

“Whatever you’re comfortable with,” Bash assured. “The guys have helped me in their own ways with mine, and I think I speak for all of us when I say that we’ll be there to support you with whatever you need. Omega to omega, I can only imagine how you’re feeling after not having a heat in almost three years, so I’m not going to make light of it, but just know you’re not alone, Sunshine.”

"There's more." The need to get it all out in the open was so strong I could barely focus or breathe. It had to be now.

It was one thing to potentially ask for help during a heat. It was another thing to go through one all together with people that were literally meant for you.

"I can't take this look," Dean said, pulling me gently into his lap and wrapping his arms around me. Miles and Bash took my hands and settled in closer as I fought to get the words out. "Whatever it is, Summer, we've got you."

"We do," Bash agreed, resting his head on Dean’s shoulder. "Take a breath and get it out."

My silence dragged on long enough that Miller let out a harsh breath. He stepped closer into my space, his large hand coming to cup the side of my face. The calluses on his fingers helped me feel centered, steady. A reminder that he wasn’t afraid of hard work and to get his hands dirty.

"What is it? I need to know," Miller said, his orange blossom and mint scent turning sharp.

"The scent blockers hide my scent, but it’s never hidden yours," I said in a rush. "You're my mates too, not just Cole."

Miller froze and the entire world stilled, even Bash’s grip on my hand stopped fidgeting. For a moment, the anxiety coursed through me once again, my heart pounding louder against my chest as I tried to make myself smaller where I sat in Dean’s lap.

I knew it was better to tell them, to get it out of the way and not blindside them when my scent showed back up. With the way the doctors had flushed my system, there was no telling how long that would be, but we were talking hours to days, not weeks like usual.

“That’s incredibly fortunate,” Miller said, a shuddered breath leaving his lips as his thumb stroked over my cheekbone. “Whether or not you accept them, they’re lucky to have such a strong and wonderful mate as you.”

He took a step back, his hands going to his beard, running through it soothingly.

Dean’s arms tightened around me as he buried his nose into the nape of my neck, Bash’s grip on my hand almost seeming to vibrate while Miles just stroked a thumb over the gland at my inner wrist.

I wanted to see them, to see what they thought about the whole thing, but Miller’s misconception needed to be corrected first.

“Miller…” I started, unsure of how he would feel about finding another mate after losing his first.

Cole stood up and approached the other alpha, his hand coming to rest on his shoulder.

“She’s not just talking about the rest of us, M. She’s talking about the whole pack. That includes you.”

Cole

My alpha was freaking out, even if he was trying not to show it.

I could feel the tremor in his muscles beneath my hand as he looked back and forth between Summer and me.

Miller was the natural leader in our pack, and it wasn’t just because of his age. He was the most dominant of us and could handle any situation with ease.

Well, except learning that he had another scent-matched mate. Fate had given him a second chance.

“Are you positive?” he asked, his eyes settling on Summer.

“You smell like orange blossoms and freshly picked mint from the garden,” she said with a nod. “But just because we’re scent matches doesn’t mean that you have to accept it. That goes for all of you.”

I watched the others all gathered around her, curious of their reactions.

Miles was as calm as ever, of course he had already told me days ago that she was it for him, even without this little announcement of hers. Dean and Bash hadn’t been subtle either, although Dean was the more cautious of the pair, wanting to make sure everything was on good footing between me and Summer before they made their interest known.

But trying to stop any of that magnetic attraction was like trying to stop an oncoming train.

It couldn’t be done.
