"Thank you."

She patted my back and sniffled. "I just thought we should give him a proper Holiday Hollow birthday celebration. Beatty wasn't kidding about half the town, trust me, we'll need all this."

“Why don’t you go ahead and run upstairs and get changed for the party? We can finish setting up the rest of the stuff here,” Beatty offered. “Most of it’s ready to go anyways and people should be showing up in half an hour.”

It was only then that I looked down and realized I was still in the track shorts and tank top I had thrown on this morning. I had woken up and made Theo pancakes, and while they weren’t as good as the ones I had post heat, they were still special.

I mean anything that had whipped cream and sprinkles had to be special. The two of us have played together all morning, and I loved getting to spend some one-on-one time with him especially after not seeing him for so long.

Of course, when we were playing with his trucks out on his track, he’d woven the guys into his stories, coming up with an entire plot line that involves us taking on some monsters. In this case, one of his stuffed animals.

“Thanks,” I said to my grandma, Claire, and her pack, rushing upstairs to get ready.

I knew the guys would be showing up soon, and even though I had just seen them yesterday, it had felt like too long. I needed to find a way to balance them and the life I had here with my grandmother, but that was a problem for another day.

Today we had a special boy to celebrate, and I couldn’t wait to see his face once he saw the cake and everything that Claire had made.

Rinsing off quickly, I threw on one of my favorite sundresses, a wrap dress that had sunflowers printed across it. I grabbed a hat and slid on a pair of sandals, knowing that we’d be outside the rest of the day and with the heat and sun, they were probably the best bet.

By the time I got downstairs the front door bell rang, and I happily welcomed Autumn and her pack, followed by Lindsay.

After getting them situated with drinks, and showing them where the food was, I wandered off to find the birthday man.

I found him outside in Miles’ arms while Cole shielded his eyes, so that he could only look towards the house.

“Now, daddy! Now,” Theo said, clapping. “Mommy is here.”

I looked at them questioningly at what was going on.

When Cole had called yesterday, he asked if they could come by slightly earlier to help with the bounce house. I had agreed they could rent it as a gift.

I was guessing they had just finished setting it up and Theo was just going to get his first look at it too.

Giving them a thumbs up I watched as they helped him take off his shoes and climb inside. I about died laughing when Bash squeezed himself through the opening and joined them.

Mint and orange blossom washed over me as strong arms pulled me back into a hard body I’d recognize anywhere as my alpha. The bond between us settled as I took greedy inhales of him and bent to kiss the arm he had wrapped around my chest.

I hadn’t even realized the slight static edge to my body, until he soothed it all the way.

“Can I take this off for a second?” Miller said, tapping my hat.

I reached up and pulled it off, twisting in his arms slightly until I could see his face. “Better?”

“Much,” he said, placing a soft kiss on my lips. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too,” I hummed into his lips as he reminded me that I could never get enough of them. "Did you guys settle on a gift? Tell me you didn't go overboard? Claire completely disregarded that warning."

He chuckled. "There's a lot of people who want to show our little guy some love."

I narrowed my eyes. "Miller, that was not an answer at all."

Miller gave me a grin and turned me, pushing me gently toward the bounce house where Theo started calling my name.

"Just remember payback is a thing," I sang out as I tossed my sunhat at him and climbed inside the bounce house. Bash clasped my hand to keep me upright as we started jumping with him, carefree laughter filling the space as the alphas stood outside watching us. He'd already recruited Miles, who was laughing along with us, his hand clasped in Bash's other one while Theo danced and bounced like a little madman.

A sharp whistle cut in and both Bash and Miles shared a look. I let go and put my hands on my hips, only bouncing now with the residual rise and fall of their continued movements.

"You guys are going to get it."
