It had been extremely difficult to walk away from Miller tonight, especially after the magical day we’d had. He’d been so understanding and caring, but I could feel from our bond that it was just as difficult for him as well.

Slipping on my shoes, I grabbed my keys and opened the door only to be stopped dead in my tracks.

There leaning against his car, with his muscled arms folded, was none other than my alpha.

He had never left me.

“I had a feeling that I should wait for you,” Miller said. “Tell me you’re coming home.”

I ran down the porch steps and into his arms as he swept me up easily, one hand behind my head, holding me to him, while the other cradled the back of my thigh.

Rubbing my cheek against him, I whispered the words we both wanted to hear.

“Take me home, alpha.”

A pleased growl rumbled from his chest as he opened the door and gently placed me inside. He took care to buckle my seat for me before walking around to his side, his hand finding mine once he was settled.

A lightness filled my soul, and from the smile on his lips, I knew he felt the same.

“They’ll be so pleased,” Miller said. “Thank you for trusting us to find that balance, and for trusting us with your heart.”

“Thank you for trusting me with yours,” I told him. “I know it probably wasn’t easy, but I’ll spend every day we have together, showing you exactly why it was worth a chance.”

“You’ve already shown me in more ways than one.”

The ride back home was over before I knew it, and as I walked hand-in-hand with Miller inside the front door, I could imagine myself doing the same thing over and over again.

The house was quiet, the only one up in the living room was Miles, who had his cute nose buried in a book.

He immediately closed it when he saw me coming over to give him a kiss even while Miller still held me.

Miles took a deep breath. “You smell delicious. Good date?”

“Great date,” I corrected, giving him one more kiss. “Even better now that I’m home.”

“Home?” He questioned, his eyes narrowing with hope and excitement.

“Home,” I confirmed.

The pure happiness that I felt through the bond was everything, and I was so happy that I was able to feel him and Bash now that I’d bonded with Dean.

“Bash and Dean bunked down with little man tonight, they decided to build a fort and are having a bit of a sleepover. Cole just went up to his room to get ready for bed.”

“Sounds like an excellent idea,” I said, just as a yawn hit me making them both chuckle.

It had been a lot of excitement for one night.

“Let’s get you to bed,” Miller said, giving in to his instincts, and picking me up in his arms.

At least he had the foresight to know that I wanted to give Miles one more kiss before he took me upstairs.

He paused outside of Cole’s room, looking at me, questioning me.

“Nope,” I said, shaking my head against his chest. “I’m tired, no more decisions for me tonight, this one is on you.”

Miller gave me an amused look, clearly remembering my line of questioning from dinner. He knocked on the door only for it to open up and reveal a shirtless Cole who looked both edible and confused.

“Do you have room for two more?” Miller asked.
