K-Scribe was the biggest online book retailer in the world, so guess what most authors were going to do? That’s right. They’d begun canceling their InkWell accounts.

En masse.

Blake got it. Authors made more money on K-Scribe and if they stayed with InkWell, they would have to takealltheir other books off K-Books, including e-books and paperbacks, basically killing their entire business.

Blake didn’t blame the authors.

He blamed K-Books. They had one hundred times the traffic than InkWell’s platform had. It was just a dirty monopolizing play.

So with his profits plummeting, Blake had to make some decisions. He had about three or four months before he would have to close the doors. So the smart thing to do was immediately reduce expenditure.

The biggest cost in any company was people. Letting his employees go felt wrong. They had helped him build InkWell. He didn’t want to do that to them.

Nor did he want to face his successful cousins and tell them he’d failed. Blake knew they, and his brother Jacob, would support him, but he’d be full of shame.

No man wanted to feel that.

Plus, he’d really believed in what he’d built and was proud of it.

So he wanted to take some time over the weekend and look at what he could do to save the business.

Not that he didn’t think about it day and fucking night.

For now, he was going to enjoy catching up with Taylor and having dinner with Rhonda and Bella. It was sure to be an entertaining evening.

Once dinner was over, he’d invite Bella away for a cocktail at the bar to give Taylor and Rhonda some privacy. If he saw that desire spark in Bella’s eyes again and found out he’d been right, then she would be coming home with him.

There, he’d give her all the praise she needed to get her pussy all wet and ready for his thick cock.

Damn.

This blind date could be just the distraction he needed before focusing back on InkWell.

CHAPTER THREE

“Oh God. I’m so nervous,” Rhonda said, looping her arm through Bella’s.
