The only shoulder we’ll be crying on is the one on the side of the road. But thanks anyway.

COLTON: Haha. The offer still stands.

“Heard you were riding with Colton this morning.” The catty voice of Georgina calls out as I pass by her locker on my way outside. “What’s wrong, Lexy? Crash step daddies car already?” she asks, giggling over her shoulder to her friends. “I’m sure you can suck his dick again to get him to buy you a new one.”

Why does this bitch always have to start shit?

“Jealousy doesn’t suit you, Georgina,” I retort mockingly. My aim is lower than I would typically go, but to hell with it. This has to stop. She needs a taste of her own nasty medicine.

I shift my feet in a confronting stance. “Not my fault your dad’s blowing all your trust fund away fucking a cunt that’s not as deep and shallow as you.”

Georgina seethes through gritted teeth, her face turning a deep shade of red.

She steps closer to me, clenching her fists. “What did you just say to me?”

Hit me bitch. I fucking dare you.

Jordin is by my side in an instant, linking her arm in mine, telling me Georgina isn’t worth getting expelled over. “Don’t play into her hands and give her what she wants.”

I blow out a deep sigh, knowing she’s right. Still, I can’t let this bitch win.

“I’ve taken you on before, Georgina. Or did you suddenly forget about the busted lip I gave you? Anytime you wanna go one-on-one again, you let me know. See, unlike you, I won’t lower myself to corner someone in a room and get other girls to hold you down while I take all the credit.”

“C’mon, Lexy,” Jordin says, pulling me by the arm away from Georgina and the crowd now gathered around us.

It kills me to walk away from her when all I want to do is grab her by the extensions and slam my fist in her face.

“Yeah, that’s it. Walk away, you coward,” she yells, trying to act all tough in front of her minions.

“You’re not worth it, Georgina. The next time you want a comeback from me, you scrape it off your dad’s teeth.”

I’m about to spin around when I spot Colton watching us with a huge smile plastered on his face. He’s like my personal shadow, lurking around every corner.

Georgina must see him too because she keeps her mouth shut as we continue walking.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Ichewmybottomlip on the drive home from school.

Can I trust Colton to keep my business private if I tell him where I need to go?

A message is announced on his car that he has a text from Saint.

He taps the screen once to open it, commanding the car to read it aloud.

“Message received from Saint. Today at 3:30 pm.”The animated female voice speaks:“How did things go with Lexy at school today? Did she behave?”

I scoff. “Did I behave? What age does he think I am?”

“What do you want me to reply?”

“You can tell him I said to go to hell.”

“Yeah, ’cause that response is very mature,” he laughs.

“Tell him whatever you want then. I really don’t care. Also, please remember you’re driving.”

I don’t watch his response, and it’s only a short time before another message comes through.
