Raven turned to Crow. “She can do this because she’s your blood, Rook’s daughter, and she already bonded to a mate.”

Crow stopped walking. He turned to Raven with narrowed eyes. “Raven.”

“You’re gonna have to accept it, Austin.”

Damn. He used my brother’s real name.

“She bonded to Talon and his crow.”

My brother picked up a chair and tossed it across the room. It smacked into the wall with a loud thud. Frustration and anger warred for dominance in his eyes. “I said no.”

Raven shook his head and smirked. “It’s already done.”

Crow sighed. “Is that true?”

“If you’re asking if I was intimate with Talon,” I began.

“Fuck. I don’t want to hear this,” Crow muttered.

“What’s so bad about me bonding with Talon? He’s a good man. You know that, or you wouldn’t have sent him to watch over me. He’s trustworthy and sweet. I,” I faltered, ignoring the sting of tears in my eyes. “I love him.”

Crow growled. “You don’t know him well enough to love him. He’s a pain in the fucking ass.”

“Only because he fell in love with Gail,” Raven pointed out.

Crow sank onto the nearest chair. “Shit.”

“You’re not gonna stop this, Crow. They’re mated.”

“We are?” I asked, needing confirmation.

Raven nodded. “Yeah. That’s the only reason his crow showed you the murder and what they intended. He considers you his mate, too.”

Um, okay. Weird.

“So, let me get this straight. The Devil’s Murder MC members are all bonded to crows. The crows connect to each one and share, what, abilities?”

“Basically, yes. Each crow also has one mate. When they find their one, that’s it. They bond. . .for life.”

Woah. “So Talon and his crow think I’m their mate because of fate or something?”

Raven shook his head. “It’s more than fate. Close your eyes. Think of Talon. Tell me what happens.”

Always with the eyes closing thing.I listened, focusing on Talon. The first thing I felt was warmth. Heat flooded my body and concentrated in my core, pulsing around my clit.

Damn. Talon’s need and arousal were intoxicating.

And then affection bloomed in my chest. Awe.

Love.

Oh, Talon.

That faded too until all that remained. . .was pain.

I blinked, gasping as I looked at Raven, then Crow. “He’s in pain. Talon’s hurt.” The panic in my voice unsettled both men.

“Fuck,” Raven cursed.
