“Thanks for that question, Levi.I’d have hoped you didn’t bring it up, though.I could live without the images of Aurora, Caden, and Mateo doing the deed just fine.”Aiden complained, receiving a glare from Caden and me.

“Okay fine.Caden, it’s your turn,” Aiden said, looking away from us.

“Levi, truth or dare?”

“Truth,” Levi answered casually, laying back on the couch.

“I’ve always been curious. If Aurora has always been your true mate, why weren’t you two together all this while?”

“First of all, she was too young when we met.And when she clocked eighteen, I had to wait because ...let’s just say, I needed to eliminate my father before I could be with her, so before that, I had to pretend that I wasn’t her true mate.”Levi explained.

“So Aurora didn’t know you were her true mate before coming to Crawford Town?”Aiden asked.

Levi nodded and propped his leg on the arm of the couch.“Yes, I kept it from her.If it weren’t for that, she would have never been with you guys.”

“That’s very unlikely.I would have found a way.You think one little vampire can stop three big, bad werewolves?”Aiden said, winking at me.

I chuckled as I went to sit on Levi’s thighs and pressed my lips to his for a simple kiss. However, Levi didn’t want a simple kiss because his fingers traced a delicate path, gliding over the area just below my earlobe, causing me to part my lips as a soft sigh escaped them.As soon as I parted my lips, he covered them with his, pushed his tongue into my mouth, and deepened the kiss by cupping my nape. The kiss was getting out of control, but I jolted out of it when Levi’s arms slid up my sides as if he wanted to cup my boobs.

I pulled away from the kiss and pushed his hands away before knocking our foreheads together while admonishing him.“Behave yourself.”

“Alright, Princess.”He responded with a smirk directed at Aiden, who was pouting.

Mateo cleared his throat to interrupt us.“I’ll ask the next question.Aiden, truth or dare.”

“Truth.”

“When are you going to forgive Alpha Owen and stop avoiding Eleanor?”

Aiden’s smile slid right off his face at this question. After a glance at me, he pulled on a fake smile.“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“You avoid Eleanor every time. You don’t eat your meals with us.You always have plans. You’re always sullen at the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners that you can’t avoid. This is all because you’ve never forgiven Alpha Owen for getting a new Luna when we were younger. When are you going to sit down with Alpha Owen and get rid of this barricade you’ve built between you and your own family?”Mateo asked bluntly.

Aiden stood up abruptly, his face red with anger as he glared at Mateo.

Before he could say something he would regret, Caden started speaking.“Dad and Eleanor weren’t together at the beginning.I’m not sure they’re even together now.It was all arranged.Dad needed a Luna and Eleanor needed shelter so they made a deal and she became the Luna of the Crawford Pack, but they’re not even officially mated. So Dad never betrayed Mom like you thought. What Mateo and I are trying to ask is—can you just stop distancing yourself from us?”

As quickly as he stood up, Aiden sat back down, his knuckles white where he was gripping his knees.“I’ll think about it.”

“Okay ...good,” Caden answered.

I moved over to sit on Aiden’s thighs and pressed a kiss on his forehead, allowing him to wrap his arms around my waist and bury his face in my neck.

Aiden was obviously not in the right mood to continue participating in the game, so I wasn’t surprised when Caden asked, “I want to ask the next question. Is that fine, Aiden?”

Aiden nodded without raising his head, but to my surprise, Caden turned to me.“Aurora, truth or dare.”

“Truth,” I answered as I combed my fingers through Aiden’s hair comfortingly while wondering what question Caden wanted to ask that he couldn’t just ask me on a regular day.

“What are your plans?”He must have seen my confusion at this question because he explained, “I’m going to be the Alpha of the Crawford Pack.Mateo is going to be Beta and Aiden is going to be Crawford Pack’s Sentinel. From what I heard, Levi is an official member of the Supernatural Council’s Intelligence Department and he’s getting a promotion soon. You were studying to be a pack observer at Camdine Academy, but you’re working for the Supernatural Council’s Intelligence Department and you’re also the future Alpha of the Woodburn Pack, but you can’t do all three. So what’s your plan? It’s fine if you don’t have an answer now.I just want you to think about it, so I’ll know what to expect in the future.”

His question caught me by surprise and from Mateo’s and Levi’s shared glances, I could see that it caught them by surprise, too.

I was quiet for a while as I thought of how to answer his question until Levi said, “You can choose to complete a dare if you don’t have an answer now.”

“No, I have an answer.I’ve been thinking about this for a while now since Daddy Keane brought it up.I’m going to be the Alpha of the Woodburn Pack.I’ve realized that I might have romanticized being a member of the Supernatural Council’s Intelligence Department. Now that I know how hard it is for me to blend in like a proper undercover operative, I’ll probably just continue being a consultant instead of becoming a member of the department, like I always thought. After I graduate from Camdine Academy, I’ll work as a pack observer for a few years as I study to be the next Alpha of the Woodburn Pack. Then we’ll see how it goes.”

I pulled away from Aiden’s embrace and sat down on the floor beside Mateo while asking Caden.“Does that answer your question?”
