A pair of hands landed on my hips, and I looked over my shoulder to make sure I approved of their owner. He was tallfor a human, and had curly black hair cropped close to his head. The black t-shirt he had on clung to his brown skin, outlining his muscles.

Six months earlier, I’d have been attracted to him.

That was before I swore off men.

Now, all I wanted from him was his blood.

Everyone who attended that particular nightclub knew it was run by vampires. A lot of them camelookingfor the vampires. Feeding one of us was supposed to be a damn good time.

I flashed him a smile, turning away and stepping back so my ass brushed his erection. He moved with me for a few minutes, and nausea curled in my chest.

The whole situation reminded me too much of Evan.

I could still remember his hands on my hips, and his?—

“You’re doing this,” I whispered to myself.

It was too loud for the guy to hear me.

I was going to drink blood.

It was time.

I forced myself to turn in the guy’s arms, and he dipped his head toward me when I went up on my tiptoes, so my lips were closer to his ear.

“Want to grab a booth?” I had to nearly yell to make sure he could hear me, but he still grinned.

“Hell yeah!”

He was enthusiastic.

Too enthusiastic.

But I was a vampire, and I couldn’t put off feeding like one anymore. My freezer was still full of blood bags, but it was the principle of the matter. Plus, I needed to keep those bags as an emergency supply.

He grabbed my arm and towed me out of the crowd, toward the portion of the nightclub that was full of comfortable booths.

Most of those were full of vampires feeding.

Or people having sex.

A lot of them had both. Drinking blood and feeding a vampire was supposed to be a sexual experience, from what I’d heard.

I’d sworn off sex along with men, but the guy dragging me behind him didn’t need to know that.

“I have a booth,” I called to him, gesturing to the far end of the row.

His grin widened. “You know the owner?”

“Something like that.”

He ducked into the roped-off booth I’d gestured to, and yanked me in with him. I stumbled a little, but managed to land painlessly on the luxurious cushion.

The guy didn’t waste any time.

He pulled me onto his lap, and kissed me.

Had I been anyone else, it probably would’ve been hot. Because I wasn’t, and I was so severely uninterested in any kind of relationship, it didn’t do a damn thing for me.
