“Obviously, it is. Why else would he make you drink twelve blood bags? I doubt he has a bloating fetish,” Tatum said.

Brynn’s nose wrinkled. “Is that a thing?”

“Let’s discuss fetishes later, B. We’re talking about how hungry Miles was.”

Both of them looked at me.

And waited.

I groaned, and ran a hand through my hair, messing up my bun further.

“I’m adding Zander to the call,” Tatum declared, hitting a button.

“Don’t even think abou—” I cut myself off when his face appeared next to Brynn’s.

Shit, the man was gorgeous.

“Well, this looks like fun,” Zander drawled. “Is Rafe here too?”

“Yup.” Rafael spoke up from beside Tatum, though I couldn’t see his face.

“Why did you make Miles drink a dozen bags of blood and send her a list of options?” Brynn checked.

I dropped my phone on my couch, groaning.

My potential mate could’ve been anyone but him. Literally anyone would’ve been better.

Instead, I got thelovelyAlexander Villin.

“She collapsed when she was running away from me and couldn’t get up. I went through her freezers and discovered she’s been drinkingtwoblood bags a week for the past six months, as opposed to the six to eight recommended by the experts. I delivered nine a week. When I go back tomorrow, she’ll be drinking just as much as she did today.”

I ripped the phone off the couch, growling, “You told me I could have an extra day.”

“I changed my mind,” he said bluntly.

“Two out of six a week?” Brynn’s voice raised. “What the hell, Miles?”

“I told you I was trying to stockpile.”

“Ihave a stash. You’re never going to starve.” Zander’s eyes were narrowed.

“Obviously, his actions were necessary. I love you, but I support the options list,” Tatum said, her eyes narrowed at me too. “You have to eat, Miley.”

“I support it too,” Brynn agreed. “The only other option I see is for you to keep living separate lives while Zander delivers blood every week, but he doesn’t seem comfortable with that anymore.”

“I’m not,” Zander agreed.

I shoved a hand through my wild, wrecked bun. “I have enough blood to last two years at my current rate. If I wanted to, I could take it and run.”

“Until you collapse again,” Brynn pointed out.

I scowled at her.

Usually she was the happy, nice one.

“I have to go.” I hit the button to end the call, yanking my hair the rest of the way out of the bun and tossing it.

I needed yoga.
