I heaved a sigh.

The only real option was 3. I was going to have to accept the bond.

Me

Fine. I have a yoga class at 5 AM, so don’t show up before 6:30

He gave me a thumbs-up, and the conversation effectively ended.

I definitely hadn’t won the damn thing… but I didn’t think I’d lost, either.

The next morning,I woke up feeling more determined and hopeful than I had in ages.

Maybe even six months.

Fine,definitelysix months.

There was a bounce in my step as I got ready and walked to the yoga studio near my apartment complex.

That bounce stopped abruptly when I walked into my usual class…

And found Zander stretching on a mat at the back of the room.

He was thoroughly ignoring the dozen female gazes glued to him. All he had on was a pair of shorts, which put all of his muscles on display for the world.

Something in me prickled at all the eyes on him, and I strode across the room, lifting my chin and pasting on a smile like I wasn’t pissed.

“Hey,Sweetheart.” I put extra sugar in the ridiculous nickname he’d given me. It sounded kind of sexy when he said it, but I knew it was nowhere near that when I did.

His lips curved upward wickedly when he saw me. “Hey, yourself.”

All of the women were staring at me, then, and I did something stupid.

Something really, really stupid.

I kneeled on the mat he had saved for me with a water bottle, leaned over, and kissed him.

It was the tiniest brush of lips, but I felt the contact through my whole body.

His lips teased my ear after the kiss, and he murmured, “Marking your territory, Miles?”

“Fuck you,” I whispered back sweetly.

He chuckled. “Still sounds like fun.”

His hand brushed my cheek affectionately, playing the part I’d all but forced him into, and I sat back on my heels, on my own mat.

Most of the gazes had left us, though some still lingered.

The class began, and Zander shocked the hell out of me with how good he was. I tried not to let my gaze wander back to him, but couldn’t seem to stop myself.

He was too damn pretty.

Zander drapedan arm over my shoulder as we made our way out of the studio. I’d taken to scheduling last minute, and tried not to frequent classes at the same time or day, to make it harder for Evan to track me down, so I didn’t have any friends or acquaintances to ask about mysweetheart.

Zander nudged me toward his truck, and I reluctantly let him lead me.

“It’s not far. I can walk.” I gestured toward the building.
