Zander Villin, sprawled out on his back on my bed, typing something into his phone.

He noticed me immediately, and his phone disappeared into his pocket.

“What are you doing?” I demanded.

“Waiting for you. The freezer agreement declares that you need to feed from me tonight.” He dragged a hand down the side of his neck, and my eyes lingered on his pulse.

He smelled so good.

So, so good.

When he left, I had no idea how I was going to avoid smelling him on my bed and wishing he was there physically.

“I didn’t sign it,” I finally said. “You can’t use it against me."

"Alright. I’ll call Julia right now.” He picked up his phone.

Zander didn’t want her there. Was he bluffing?

He had to be bluffing.

“Go ahead,” I threw back.

He hit the button and lifted it to his ear. “Hey,Julia.” He cut me a look when my scowl deepened. I had never heard him use her real name when talking directly to her before. “Yes, I need you again. Tonight.”

Anger built in my belly.

He wasn’t going to have sex with her, or feed from her, but it sounded like he was going to.

“Perfect. Thanks.”

I stormed out of my room, slamming the door shut behind me, and threw his door open. I slammed that one shut too, just because I was too pissed not to. And I locked it, for good measure.

“Miles,” he called out, when he tried the doorknob. “Open the damn door.”

I ignored him, pacing the room with my fists clenched.

I wanted to kill Julia. I honest-to-goodness wanted tokillher.

What was I supposed to do with that?

“I didn’t actually call her. I was making a statement,” he called out.

I dropped onto the bed, my ridiculous eyes stinging. “The whole reason we’re fighting right now is because you don’t want me making a statement, so I don’t give a shit. Sleep in my room tonight. Tomorrow, I’m moving out. I’m done.”

He was silent for a moment.

Then, there was a snapping noise.

thirteen

MILEY

The door brokeoff its hinges, and Zander leaned it up against the wall before turning toward me. His eyes were hot and angry as he strode across the room.

“You’re not going anywhere.”

“Like hell I’m not.”
