Enjoy demon sex enough for me too ;P
Shaking my head, I set my phone down and leaned my head back. My eyes closed, and I relaxed into the water.
At some point, I was going to have to decide what exactly I was going to do about Zander.
But… not yet.
When I finally slipped out ofthe tub, I could hear him talking on the phone in the living room. I couldn’t make out individual words, and didn’t want to pry. So, I padded across the hallway, wrapped in a fluffy black robe that had appeared in his bathroom since the last time I’d taken a bath.
Something told me he’d bought it for me.
I closed my bedroom door quietly, drying off and putting on shorts and a tank top. I itched to go out and sit on the couch, to sit next to him again and read or watch a movie. But were we back to that yet?
Where did we stand, really?
I wasn’t sure.
And I hated that.
I opened the door and peeked into the hallway, listening. He was still on the phone. I could hear him, faintly.
It seemed safe to assume he was working, and I didn’t want to interrupt him while he worked. His job was important, and his brothers needed him.
Plus… I was a total chicken.
With a soft sigh, I closed the door again and slipped into my bed.
I would have to figure out where we stood in the morning.
My internal clockwoke me up just as early as usual, and I slipped out of the room in my sleep clothes. I could smell food cooking, like usual, and my shoulders relaxed slightly.
He wasn’t avoiding me.
Zander flashed me a tentative grin when I made it to the kitchen, and I mirrored his expression before taking my usual seat in front of my laptop.
Soon enough, he was sitting in the chair beside mine, setting a plate in front of me.
The eggs weren’t runny, for the first time since he’d started making me breakfast.
“Thank you.” I closed my laptop and slid it to the side, starting on my food.
“Of course.” He captured my free hand and lifted it to his lips, pressing a kiss to the back of my hand before he started eating too. “You disappeared last night.”
My face warmed a little. “You were working. I didn’t want to interrupt.”
“I want you to interrupt, Sweetheart,” he said matter-of-factly. “I was talking to my brothers about going through with your plan. Our parents own a resort in the Colorado mountains that we should be able to make work for the mating celebration, security-wise. You and I won’t ever be alone during the trip, but we can take a few days without privacy for the sake of dealing with Evan.”
My chest tightened. “Really?”
