“I don’t know. I’d feel bad going without B…” I admitted.
“Come on. I’ll talk her into it. There’s a ski resort nearby, so we can hike or ride bikes down the mountain with our guys…”
I sighed. “Alright, fine. As long as Zander doesn’t think I’ll get murdered if we go. And doesn’t have plans already.”
“Girl, he never has plans. He’s in. I’ll make sure,” she promised. “We’re leaving in the afternoon. It’s a three-hour drive. See you tomorrow!” With that, she hung up.
Just… hung up.
I wrinkled my nose at the phone.
That was odd.
And sudden. I wasn’t a fan of sudden changes in plan.
But a trip to the mountains did sound like fun.
“Zander?” I called out.
“Yeah?” His voice was just as loud as mine when he replied from his office.
“Tatum wants us to leave tomorrow to stay at Bash’s cabin for the next few days.”
“Cool!”
That was it.
That was the reply.
I probably shouldn’t have been surprised. He wasn’t anywhere near as worried about changes in plan as I was. I wished I could go with the flow as much as he did.
A few minutes later, Tatum texted me.

Our group chat lit up a minute after that.
