And the red stone wasperfect.

Blood and lust—the story of our relationship.

“I love it,” I admitted.

“Get over here.” He tugged me back to him and kissed me again, harder. After a minute, he murmured against my mouth, “We’re going to seal the bond now.”

“Now?” The word was almost a squeak.

“Yes, Miles. Look into my eyes.”

My gaze jerked to his.

Those gorgeous blues could’ve pierced my soul.

“How do we seal it?”

His lips curved upward. “You just can’t let me have control for a minute, can you?”

A laugh escaped me. “Sorry. I’m trying.”

“Don’t apologize. You’re perfect.” His hands slid down to my hips. We were both still on our knees, but neither of us was in a hurry to get up. “Say you’ll be my mate, Sweetheart.”

With that smile in his eyes and on his face, there was no way to turn him down. Even if I’d wanted to, I couldn’t have said no—and I didn’t want to.

“I’ll be your mate,” I said, simply. “Iamyour mate.”

“Damn straight you are.” He leaned his lips to my ear, and murmured one word. “Aeternum,Miles.”

Forever.

He had promised me forever.

The word hit me hard, and some kind of magic rolled down my spine. Zander pulled me to his chest for a hug—a fierce hug, one that I returned with just as much zeal.

“I’m really glad you like me,” he said into my hair, as he held me.

I laughed, ignoring the tears stinging my eyes. “I’m glad you like me too.”

My phone buzzed in my pocket, and Zander pulled it out, answering it for me. “It’s safe to come in,” he said without missing a beat.

I heard the door unlock a minute later, and he stood, lifting me to my feet too. Wiping away any trace of the few tears that had momentarily gotten the best of me, I turned to face the door.Zander pulled me close, lifting his right hand to check out the shimmering gray markings that had appeared.

He whistled, and I looked down at my own. My eyes widened at the sight. They were clear evidence that we were going to be together, permanently.

Brynn and Tatum burst through the door, cheering while holding bottles of champagne and confetti cannons. Rafael was right behind them, and Bash was reluctantly behind him. Brynn shot her confetti cannon off, and we all laughed as glitter and confetti went everywhere.

Except Bash.

He eyed the confetti and glitter falling to the ground with a disgruntled expression.

“Congrats!” Brynn exclaimed.

“Welcome to the family!” Tatum winked. “It’s good to be a Villin.”

I snorted, and Brynn laughed, hard.

Rafael turnedmusic on while Bash started cooking dinner. I offered to buy food, but all three of the men quickly turned me down.
