Before heading further inside of the clubhouse, I pull Starla in for a passionate kiss.

As much as I want to stay here and ravish her body like I did this morning, there are things I have to do.

I break our kiss and head inside the clubhouse, scanning the main area looking for my president. "Anyone seen Runes?"

Tor glances up from his phone, "Dad's in his office."

I nod, giving him a silent thank you, and head for his father's office.

Runes' office door is closed, so I rap my knuckles against it and wait. "Come on in," he shouts from the other side.

Placing my hand on the knob, I twist and push it open.

Runes is scanning his computer, looking over something. The second I walk in he turns all his attention to me. "I heard you all ran into some trouble."

With a heavy sigh, I nod. "The girls did, yes."

"I want to know why the fuck the girls were alone in the first place." Runes is angry, which is something I didn't expect.

I figured he'd be relieved the ladies got out of it with minimal injuries. We all knew it could have been much worse.

Gathering my thoughts, I choose my words carefully. "They wanted a girl's night out, no men allowed. We gave them what they wanted."

"The three of you are fuckin' retarded. You all knew the Culebra cartel sent us a message, and yet you act like fuckin' mindless prospects. Rayna got beat up, Aziza got shot, and any one of them could've been killed. You were lucky nothing worse happened to them. Do you understand that?" Runes seethes, glaring at me with all his might.

Feeling the weight of responsibility, I nod, knowing there is no sense arguing with him. "Yes, which is why none of our women should be alone for the foreseeable future. I want all of our ladies to be protected."

Runes lifts his brows, "Did you sayour?"

I clear my throat, "Yes. Starla's my woman now."

Runes suddenly isn't so angry, he slightly smirks and nods. "Took you two long enough to make that happen. I was beginning to wonder if it ever would."

I stifle a chuckle. "Yeah, well, we both needed to know it was right."

"It was right from the moment you picked her up on the highway." Runes states, staring right at me.

I shake my head, "She was too young."

He scoffs at my statement, "She was an adult. Old enough to know, but I understand what you're saying. Being her friend these last few years only strengthened your relationship, I'm sure."

He's right, and her age was only part of the reason why I didn't pursue her from the beginning.

Starla had come to me broken and beaten, and the last thing I was going to do was overwhelm her with advances when she had healing that needed to be done.

"Yes, it probably did," I pause for a moment, trying to get back on track. "Now we know the cartel is watching us much more closely than we originally thought. None of the women should be alone, or the kids. We need everyone to know that now."

Runes quickly picks up his phone and begins typing away.

I imagine he's sending out a group text to the club, and within a second my phone is vibrating in my pocket.

"I just sent out a max text message to everyone in the club, letting them know the women and kids can't be by themselves. We go out in groups, or we don't go out. No women groups will go out together, which we'll discuss in further detail the next time we havekirkja. In the meantime, make it known in the club the ladies are to not be in groups together. What happened to Starla, Aziza, and Rayna is proof enough of why they need someone with them."

I nod, but point out the obvious. "Some of them won't be happy about it."

Runes gives me a stern look. "I'm sure they'll be happier than if they ended up with a fuckin' bullet in them."

"Fair enough," I say with my brows raised, curious if there's some other reason Runes could be in such a bad mood today.
