“I know,” she says with a smirk before she heads out the door, leaving me to get ready, which I do in record time. I hate the idea of washing the scent of Loukas off me, but I am hopeful that I’ll be able to replace it over and over again for the rest of our lives.

“Here she is!” Skarlyt exclaims as I walk into the workroom. Fortunately, it's only Skar, Bree, Seb, and Sarah in there waiting for me. I honestly expected the room to be full.

“How long did I sleep?”

“Four hours,” Sarah answers.

“That’s better than letting me sleep the day away,” I tell them, walking around the counter to see what they’ve been working on. “What do we have?”

Skarlyt gets all giddy, rubbing her hands together.

“Well, I had to get my baby bro to help with the spell, and Sarah helped with the design.”

“Hey. I helped with the supplies,” Bree says jutting out her bottom lip.

“Yes, yes. Opal called and said we needed to add an extra element, but she wouldn’t tell us why.”

“She never does,” Sarah growls, though it’s likely just out of annoyance that her best friend has to keep so many secrets from her.

“What extra element?”

“Well, these two necklaces with the black onyx stones are the anti-tracking necklaces. This one, the Azurite, has the anti-tracking spell but also a little extra. When the person who wears it is submerged in water, an air bubble will surround them.”

“It works. I tested it half an hour ago,” Bree confirms proudly.

“What would I need that for?” I ask.

“I’m sure you’ll find out. Opal works in mysterious ways. She also put some other things in your bag—I didn’t ask or look at what they were,” Sebastyn adds.

“Please thank her for me and thank all of you.”

“We’re family. That’s what family does,” Bree says, pulling me in for a hug. “Now go get your mate.”

I chuckle as Bree pushes me toward Skarlyt who is already holding my bag and the necklaces.

“I will. See you soon.” I wave goodbye to Sarah, Sebastyn, and Bree as Skarlyt and I teleport back to the forest.

“Be careful, stay safe, and call if you need us,” she says and pops away before I even have the chance to respond.

Guess she really doesn’t like the cold.

Chapter Eleven

Loukas

“Were you trying to escape, my pet?” Antonia sneers as I arrive back at the clearing belonging to the coven courtesy of Anthony. Although I was already making my way here, he seemed to think I needed a little extra help in the form of magical restraints.

“Never, my love.” I use the sweet voice I’ve perfected over the years.

“Then why were you out of sight?” she asks, stepping up to me and running a finger down my chest. Involuntary shivers wrack my body. Thankfully, Antonia must believe that it’s from lust rather than revolution.

“I was hungry, so I went out to catch some fish. They weren’t biting close to the coven. I probably went further than I should’ve but only to catch something to eat.”

“And where is this fish?” she asks, searching my empty hands.

“I stopped on an inhabited island and cooked it.”

“You were that hungry?” she asks, her eyebrow raised in question.
